Bet it won't be.
Not at all - could have easily has a couple of free kicks in front of goal.

Phoebe trying to mark one handed with her other arm being held and nothing called.

After kicking for our first shot (and score), the player was taken high and pushed to the ground.

Quiet whistles in our half of the ground

This is telling. Leading possession winners at quarter time:

Boyd, Blakeway, Purcell, McMahon, Van De Heuvel, McDonald, Burchell 3 each.

GWS have 7 players with 4 or more possessions.

57 possessions to 37 in the quarter. Just can't hold onto possession.

Any wind there cats_09 and if so, which end is it favouring?
Definite breeze earlier in the match but hit & miss now

The stand/building at the Manuka Shops end has reduced the breeze that way - where GWS kicked both their goals.

We won the toss and elected to kick to the end where no goals have been scored yet; the ball was traveling longer when being kicked in that direction.

And was a great call of the toss "tossing the coin is "Mrs Smith"(not real name) and..."
They didn't say anything after Hickey won the toss

One of the umpires did come up with a new interpretation of the ruck rule regarding blocking in the ruck contest - he stopped the throw in to tell the GWS player to stop blocking Hoare and then asked the boundary umpire to throw the ball in

No sign of teamwork that half. Seems we're really reactive and just hoping for things to happen. It's either we're outnumbered at the contest, or we're outnumbering the opposition and unwilling to put in a block to give the girl with the ball more time to dispose of the ball better, and the ball just rebounds way too quickly the other way.

Also happy that GWS running into goal latish in that quarter didn't result in a goal - the clearest throw from one teammate to another, especially as she had one arm under her, and nothing got called

If they illegally impeded Hoare, it should've been a free. If you need to tell someone to stop blocking, do it after penalising for infringing.
