Well another loss, a pathetic display. Same passengers going missing, can we beat the Pies? I think not, are our finals hopes over? I think so. We have too many down hill skiers, so whats the changes for next week?

These players must be dropped: Russell, Cloke and Wiggins
and I never want to see those 3 ever again
Cloke played the role of the invisible man well after quarter time as well as the role of the cherry picker when he kicked his goal
russell cannot kick the goal and is not improving
wiggins has now had 3 bad games in a row and is letting us down

Robinson should come back in- BOG in the VFL
Setanta even though he wasnt that good in the VFL should play instead of Cloke. Cloke has been horrid in just about every game this season and its a miracle he hasnt been dropped yet. Steven Browne may also come in.

Both teams should be coming off losses, and both will be pretty hungry for a win considering both teams have had their dissppointments this year, and would both like to be sitting on an extra win.

The loser will be sitting on 3 wins, 5 losses and their season in a pretty fragile state. Make no mistake, this match will be huge, and if nothing else will be filled with great intensity and desire.

I would make the following changes:

OUT: Fev, Wiggins
IN: Bannister, Robinson

Also in the mix this week I would hope are Grigg, Carrazzo (Not sure about their fitness)

Here's what I want to see happen with Russell, because he wasn't our worst player but he's still never going to be more than an average player. He needs to play with the Bullies because I want to see if he can play with a bit of intenstiy and purpose at the 2s.
Bring in Robbo.

At then end of the day we lost, many players didn't do much tonight and should want to impres son the track this week otherwise they'll be out of a game next weekend.

Judd, Murphy, Gibbs, Waite, Jammo, Bower, Kruezer, Thorton, Joseph, Betts, Yarren, Austin, Hadley and Scotland all can hold their heads high as they dug deep and contested and faught as hard as they could with little help from their mates.

Players like Russell, Cloke, Wiggins, Stevens, Simpson, Hampson, Fev and Armfield all were quiet, either through injury or just little impact. Some of these players are repeat offenders and as much as i have defended them lately their place in the team must be under question.

Players in the Ants like Bannister, Fisher, Setanta, Browne & Robinson IMO should now be getting a game next week, not all but a mix.

Lets also remember we have a couple of player in Carrots, Johnson and Grigg out injured, whether they are in our best 22 (some will say yes and some no) but it makes a difference. Carrots has been outstanding in his couple of games this year.

4 changes last week IMO was too many after a good game.

BUt this week we need to make the point that we can't go in lazy and expect it will happen, some players just didn't chase, tackle and fight hard enough tonight.

Not to take too much away from Freo but we lost it ourselves with shit handball, sloppy kicks and low intensity and too many players do this week in week out, its time to stand up and play for the want to play finals.

Out of all 4 games we have lost its been about 30 points total combined, so they have all been winable, but too many times we rely on Judd, Murph, Gibbs and Fev to win for us.

I trust in Ratts and too many people here are starting to rip into him, but IMO he telss the players the way it is, and they don't deliver, well now its time they do or they can play in the Ants.

Joseph, Murph, Judd, Waite and Bower our best tonight.

The way to win games is intensity, hardness, tackles and corridor footy!!

I think Simmo needs to get dropped, he has taken his spot for granted, has done nothing. So many passengers you can't drop them all. Yarran will stay in, I hope he does he did well I loved his little touches, pick ups etc.

If ALL of those players had performed to the expectations we have come to expect of them individually, we would have won.

I think Cloke has to go this week, Cloke, Simmo and a few others need a reality check.

Russell was really good today, I thought. Simmo and Stevens need to be dropped, to be honest. They didn't run hard enough all night. Don't understand why there's 3 ruckmen in the team, but it seemed when ever there was a contest in our forward line and the ball hit the ground, Freo rebounded with ease. There was no forward pressure at all, or anything compared to what we served up for most of the first 6 rounds. Worst performace for the year by far.

Give Yarran and Austin another go.

So we can only play 14 players each week so long as they meet their expectation and win??

The players i names played well and faught hard, they need support of everybody else to make it a team win, not just beat their opponents.

I think we will beat Collingwood. It doesn't matter about the last couple of weeks, it doesn't matter about ladder positions. It never has.

Fevola, go and take a break, go to a bar have yourself a nice few drinks and just relax for the week, we need to you to fire again.

Ratten time to make some cuts, starting with Rusell. I know there are the Russell bashers and people like that, but I'm not one. I have admired some of his work. It's not his fault his out there, he can only play to his best and his best is not good enough.

I'd like to see Mitch Robinson to replace Russell. Just love the intensity, the pressure and the hardness he adds to the team.

Another thing that stands out is Cameron Cloke. Has just been shit the last few weeks, simple as that. Now some may disagree but I'd like to see Fisher out there again. Others that may replace Cloke are Hartlett and Setenta.

If Ratten is game enough to drop Scotland, then he should consider to drop Stevens and Thornton. I doubt it will happen though.

Ins: Robinson, Fisher, Hartlett/Setenta

Outs: Russell, Cloke, Thornton/Stevens

Predictions:

Winning team and margin: Carlton 14 points

BOG: Bryce Gibbs 32 touches

Highest goal scorer: Brendan Fevola 6

Highest behind scorer: Brendan Fevola 5

Carlton: 18. 11 119

Collingwood: 16. 9 105

lol here we go, so I guess during the week we will have similar threads on Collingwood to these? >> "we will smash Essendon", "we will hammer Fremantle" etc?

My crystal ball tells me we'll beat Collingwood and Fev will kick at least 6. Fev loves the G with a big crowd and we've had the wood over them the last few times.

Unfortunatley, the ball also doesn't see anything else changing and we'll fall to crows by a kick or 2 the week after.

Ball also predicts we'll win on and off for the rest of the year, but will undoubtably lose to St Kilda, Essendon, Sydney and Geelong.

Out: Wiggins, Cloke
In: Fisher, Robinson

Id like to see fisher given another chance, definately a better lead up option than cloke in my opinion also alot better contested marker.
Both Cloke and Wiggins two very average performances now and deserve a run in the 2's IMO.

Wow look at all the spectators viewing our board lol. Hello people how's it going for all of you tonight. :)

The players i names played well and faught hard, they need support of everybody else to make it a team win, not just beat their opponents.

Judd - Can't always rely on him, but we really havent this year. Needed him to show a bit of roving brilliance, and kick/set up another goal or two. He does this often, however did not tonight.

Murphy - Played a great game, however kept bombing it into our forward 50. This wont work at the best of times, but certainly when nothing was happening down there. It simply wasted our forward thrusts.

Gibbs - Made some terrible decisions/skill errors at times. His game was acceptable, but on a night like this it needed to be better than simply a pass grade.

Kruez - Great game, but kept letting Sandilands stand in front of him in marking contests, giving himself no chance. Sandilands killed us not just in the ruck, but around the ground.

Betts - Played well, but didn't step up enough with the absence of Fev. He could really not afford any mistakes, and his snap in the final 10 mins when we needed a goal was pathetic. Had plenty of time to staighten up.

Our midfield needed to dominate tonight and it did not. All those players played good games, however on a night like this, I consider a pass mark to be unacceptable. If these players had turned it on, our midfield would have produced enough quality to give us opportunities to kick a winning score. As it was, we just bombed it into the forwardline with hope. I daresay if they had of given us a spark, they may have lifted some of the other players who had poorer nights.

The midfield can't dominate when your carrying passengers. Our back line has more holes than a leaky roof, Thornton did his usual tricks tonight lol. But unfortunately we can't afford to drop him, which says a lot about how far we have to go.

What usual tricks? He was one of our best tonight (Top 3 for me). If he is as bad as you say/think he is, then surely that says more about everyone else in the team tonight rather than him.

EDIT: Anyway I'm getting this thread off topic, so probably best not to respond, and leave talk of this weeks game for elsewhere.

Yeah you must love the great decision making skills and turn overs of Thornoton. Constantly sells players into trouble, but when we have nothing else coming through the reserves we are stuck with him.

Rather than criticise your scapegoats, why don't you make an argument against the players I listed above as to why they should be above criticism for this particular match?

Thornton may do some silly things, including adding a third 'o' into his surname to confuse us at times, but he performed above what I would normally expect of him tonight. Can you honestly say that about the above players mentioned?

Thornton was disgracefull tonight, anyone who says otherwise must not of watched the game.

Stevens didnt chase, again!

But for me the major disappointment was Russel and Cloke.

I have not bagged Russel yet and have tried to back him, but enough is enough he just isnt good enough unfortunately. He is a fantastic build and i would love to see him come on, but it looks unlikely.

Cloke is average at best, and looks very slow at the moment.

Wiggins has gone backwards big time.

So for me.

Its

Out Russel, Cloke,

In, Grigg/Robinson, Hartlett.

My scapegoats huh, yep lets just tolerate our passengers then and always praise them. Eddie made the best of his opportunities, at least he tries every week.
