I have some news for you.

Playing 3 ruckmen in wet conditions is not an advantage.

It's a disadvantage before we even run on to the ground..
Repeat of round 1.

I cant see Smith playing as well as the 3 ruckmen if its wet. LT will get another week to try and hold his spot IMO. If they drop a ruckman and add Smith even better.

Ins Cunnington, Greenwood, Garlett.

Outs Urquhart, Wright, Harding.

Should make us alot harder around the ball and little Cruize has a knack for finding the pill, something we were lacking last week.

Love having the inside word. The feeling of justification. Cant help but adore it.:p

Yep, credit where it's due. Can confirm that the tazman PM'ed me the mail on Cunners' debut earlier in the week.

Good call, mate. :thumbsu:

Doing a better job than some of my usual thources. :scratches inner scrotum

C 7 - J.Ziebell 10 - B.Cunnington 28 - R.Bastinac

The Centre line of the future...exciting!

INT 4 - L.Anthony, 12 - L.Thomas, 13 - L.Adams, 14 - G.Urquhart, 18 - J.Smith, 19 - S.Wright, 32 - C.Garlett

Bolds will play

Hope so but can't see us playing all the big guys + Josh when it's likely to be very slippery Sunday night.

Anthony, Adams, Urquhart & Garlett on the bench for mine.

Very happy with the inclusions.

The concern for Smith is if he does play and fail to have an impact in conditions not suited to the big men that he will be relegated to the VFL for several more weeks; it's happened to him before.

Ben Warren needs a run in the VFL, has been ordinary for a couple of weeks now. Goes to ground too often, gets under the ball too often.

Just a question, do you think Brady Rawlings with tag Rioli. No doubt he did a great job on him last year, but we still won those games. I think he'd do an ever better job on Mitchell or particularly Hodge, who are usually the far more influential players anyway.

Also I doubt overloading the rucks would be that great a move. Renouf rucked admirably throughout the game against the wobblers, looking fitter and more competitve by the week. besides last year he did well on 3 north ruckmen by himself. Hawks will come out hard and competitive after last week, but the main weakness to be taken advantage of would seem to be our collective lack of 4 quarter run (and a few key players out of form aswell)

More likely to play back than defensive midfield. So he should get your most dangerous small forward.

Unless of course Scott wants to revisit our 'vs St.Kilda' tactic of leaving Rawlings loose down back and asking Thompson to man up your small forwards.

OUTS: L.Harding, S.Wright

Quite happy with that line up, expecting a possibility of Josh Smith in as an emergency if the rain picks up saturday night.

Good to see Cunnington in the lineup, i hope he does well on the weekend. Also good to see Greenwood back in the side because him and Bastinac can kill it in the midfield. Say, Brad Scott is reading Bigfooty. ;)

I thought that might have been the bench.

I like it. Shame about Harding though, he was becoming a favourite of mine. He'd want to get back playing some great footy soon considering his age.

Hopefully Wright can go back to the VFL and tear it up.:thumbsu:

Think he'll be a good player, just needed to get involved a bit more and be a bit cleaner.

Yeah, he just dropped some confidence and needs to get that back a bit, he made Leigh Brown look sure-footed the way he was going to ground at every contest.

B: Brent Guerra, Stephen Gilham, Thomas Murphy
HB: Ben Stratton, Ryan Schoenmakers, Rick Ladson

Now if David Hales doesn't kick a bag full against this backline then I'm gonna Boil My Eyes Out. :stern look

Picking North on the strength of the Mitchell out. Definitely is big for us, he's their midfield general. Sewell will offset somewhat but there'd be doubts over his match fitness. If we can play like we did against Sydney in the first 2.5 quarters for the whole game, I think we'll win.

Put him head to head with Lewis.

Jack can take Hodge.

Bastinac on Sewell.

The last two might be biting off more than they can chew at this stage , but the first matchup you have i would be comfortable at , it will teach Benny about gathering outside ball ! .

Don't be fooled by the accidental place Jordan found himself in 2 weeks ago .

Go Roo Boyz .

Not one for games Bon, the emergencies were the last named on the extended bench.

Really like the look of the this team.

We should lose this, we have a heap of kids (who will be stars) and they have many seasoned premiership players.

But this is a game we have a snif in...our backs are to the wall and we will end the Hawks top 4, if not top 8 chances with a win Sunday.

Go get em lads!

Why?

ummm der....because we all know tall guys cant play in the wet, we need smaller quicker guys than Goldy or Hale....like Josh Smith.

David Hales skills at ground level are questionable at best, factor in a slick ball and he will be next to useless when the ball hits the ground.

Smith is still tall providing a lead up option, but hes better at ground than hale. Last time we went a super tall forward line in the wet we got creamed.
