Some genuine crumbers at Jackson's feet and we'd have three more goals. It becomes easy to negate him because we're simply not dangerous at ground level, so opposition defenders feel more confident in taking the marking contest.

I think Jackson is playing pretty well.

It's happened 3 times in recent memory:

• Switta v Essendon and called 50
• Chad Warner v Richmond and not called 50 despite the fact it was the worst one of the lot
• And today

Given the above you can see why the Richmond crowd is particularly unhappy over the call. The logical solution is the AFL amend the rule so you cannot give a delay of game free kick after the siren.

But that's the logical solution so we know it will never happen.

• And today

Given the above you can see why the Richmond crowd is particularly unhappy over the call. The logical solution is the AFL amend the rule so you cannot give a delay of game free kick after the siren.

But that's the logical solution so we know it will never happen.

That does fit the spirit of the rule more.

Hardly a mare. It’s his 2nd game in the big time, biggest stage in footy & a feral crowd. Understandable he’s maybe a bit overawed. Hopefully finds his feet in the 2nd half.

Pretty professional from our boys. Left a few goals out there but looked in control.

Loving Chappy back. He makes such a difference to how we bounce it out.
Draper has some challenges with the athleticism of LeFau but he’s keeping a cool head.
Mids look great. Amiss a bit scratchy & Jackson can’t finish. Treacy great again, he’s the real deal now.
Johnson starting to look at home at the level again & O’Meara is just a tidy foot soldier now.
Banfield hasn’t reached his recent lofty heights but hasn’t needed to.

Team is starting to look complete. Keep this lot together & we’re playing finals at least.

There was a clear whistle and free-kick paid before the siren. If it happened on or after the siren I would agree somewhat but the free-kick was clear.

Name me another forward ruck that isn't a token 15 minutes of rest for the main ruck that goes at about 2 goals a game (which he's done so far this year with Sean in the team, and he should have kicked 2 already today).

I don't think there is one. He's clearly the best forward ruck in the league at 22 y.o.

I think he’s doing pretty well today too. But it’s a lesser position than having him around the ball full time. Teams generally don’t prioritise second ruck/part time tall forward for A grade talent. Reminds me of when some used to claim Lobb was the best second ruck in the comp. I was like yeah, who cares? Most teams dont even have one.
It’s a debate for weekdays anyway and has longer term implications than today. He should be able to get on the scoresheet with a couple in the second half hopefully.
