My mail is also that an ex Sunbury Lion / Douttas Stars key forward will be playing at Kangas next year. Can you confirm?
Not at all, would love to have him but 100% haven't spoke to him due to he is still playing as with every other player I am wanting too recruit we will be waiting until seasons end.

I coached against woodend today and regardless of the score line I have to say that glen Hopkins is a GUN coach!!!!
If woodend and glen are parting ways I wish them all the best and will be the first bloke on the phone trying to secure fitsys services......

As for jarrod Dixon I think your jumping at shadows meach.
Firstly jarrod is assistant at keilor and secondly he HAS N O T spoken to rockbank.

Congrats meach on the kangas gig for 2015/16.....
I also hear u are chasing Simon Clarke and all the Sunbury lions walkouts. Kudos to u. 2015 I'm sure will see the rdfl stronger than Eva!!!!
Ha ha cheers Dean, why would I be jumping at shadows? All my required players have re-committed for 2015 which is a great thing for our club going forward. And to be honest mate if I had romseys money that would be the only way to land any ex Sunbury lions at my club which you know very well.

Your very good sources are very wrong then mate.

Jarrod has not been approached.
My apologies then mate, but like I said they were rumours that I heard, I would find it funny if they did replace Robbie because I along with many others in this comp think he has done an awesome job along with Leighroy in a very short time.

Great idea to let the boys finish the season until you start talking money, might make them worth a little more the deeper they go into the finals.

Exactly right!!!!! Also mate ive seen so many of these so called guns from " better comps" underestimate the rdfl. They command huge bucks and struggle in this comp. The rdfl is very underrated imo

Couldn't agree more.. The Rockbank coaching role was offered to Robb and it is his decision on if he goes again, similar to most situations I would have thought.

In an ideal world it would be great if people waited until seasons end but unfortunately this is rarely the case! It is particularly disappointing when it's clubs from within your league!

Season hotting up! I see Bombers got over Rams by 8 points. Third all of a sudden not looking like the easy run we all thought it was.

Burras seem to be finding form at the right time of year too. Massive game between Burras and Sharks this week. Bombers v Kangas will be big too!

I thought bombers brought a heap of players, not looking
the goods if they only beat rams by 8 points

Romsey - look the goods. Definitely theirs to lose.
Rupo - travelling nicely and seem to be building..
Riddell - not travelling great and look to far behind the rest
Diggers - building momentum but funny things happen to them at this time of the year!!
Sunbury - even spread of goal kickers but without a dominant forward not sure if they can win it

Good finals series coming up!!!

The sooner the RDFL introduce a trade period the better, Ive never known a comp where guys are happy to play against former clubs/team mates and even premiership team mates in that case :D

The 17 goal margin doesn't reflect how well the young Hawks played.. it was an even game after quarter time.. enjoyable to watch and your lads had to work hard to win the contested ball :) It's a great sign for the Hawks in the future..
In my mind, Fitzy is in the top best coaches in the competition, if not.. the best.. what he did with Diggers was amazing and the Hawks are lucky to have him.. what they've been able to achieve under him in the last few years has been amazing and I hope he's there to continue on the improvement and development next year, because that's his biggest strength.. development.. the Burras wouldn't be where they are now without his guidance during that period..

You make some good points Ledg, another thing that must make Fitzy so appealing is that he's not money driven, is happy to work with young blokes and educate. Quite often it's the next coaches after someone like Glen who reap the rewards.

Just on Woodend, what will happen in 2015? Is Gilbert Gordon still out of play? Do they have a relationship with the juniors for the other oval or will they be playing all games away from the town for a year? Would that have any bearing on coaching applications and/or potential recruiting?

I believe one key thing is clearance window should open in October
As for playing against former team mates etc I believe that as a lot of trades come down to the dollar it leaves loyalty as a forgotten word to some but it happens in all leaugues

Woodends junior oval is just as bad, it even worse as a mud pit, I hear they are talking to kyneton ..anyone know if that's true?

4 wins 1 win and 3 wins in 3 years I wouldn't say that achievement is amazing, obviously there have been players who improved significantly in his time there but as a whole I reckon Woodend had gone backwards, think he had more cattle at diggers and didn't actively seek to bring anyone in at Woodend at all

Its more clubs' fault than any player, after all the clubs at times throw massive "overs" at second rate footballers, some virtually sight unseen or having done no "due dilligance" as was the big word on here a while ago so of course they'll turn disloyal.

For Christ sake if Mr. Cadbury offered me double what I was worth I'd say ta ta to Willy Wonka tomorrow.

If anyone has watched Woodend play this year, it's not hard to see that they are a far more improved outfit, their performances against some of the top side have been more than impressive and rarely have been blown off the park.. anyone that saw the game on Saturday will know that they the 106 point margin was far from what the overall quality of the game suggests.. like all teams battling in the bottom half of the ladder, consistency for all four quarters is a difficult task.. as for the recruiting, you'll probably find that there is more to it than the 'they didn't actively seek to bring anyone in'.. $$$ is always a key factor especially when the club's main priority is to do what they can to find a home for 2015 ...

Kyneton's ground will probably be out of action.. with the wet weather and lack of sun this winter, the ground hasn't recovered at all and has a heavy run towards the end of the season, so whether the council look at the condition of it then and let it determine their decision.. there could be suggestions of using the bottom oval .. the newest surface outside of Romsey's second oval.. (apparently isn't an option anyway).. the Senior cricketers will move to the Junior oval this year while the other grades will be active on other grounds like riddell last season.. this is going to be a tough run for the Hawk footballers..

What happened to Baker? I thought he went to the Kangas to become the dominant forward after he walked on his agreement with Romsey because he wasn't going to be their dominant forward.
