Anyone know the condition of Romsey ground or how it will hold up in this type of weather. Some previous posts sounds like there is really poor drainage out there. Is our attitude what will be will be just play it there stuff the spectacle accept poor conditions for our best match of the year...or would there be some hope the RDFL Exec and board are switched, on, want the best spectacle possible and have a ground like Clarke Oval on standby? Just a question!

Clarke oval are you serious. Come have a look tomorrow morning, should be a few locals around to answer your question. In case you haven't noticed most of Victoria has been flooded. Every ground in the area is wet. Considering the rain the ground has had dumped on it, it's pretty good. Wet weather footy

here here Barfly, other leagues have rolled out entire voting lists within a day or two, but we're getting the rough end of the stick from AFL Vic and they've left AFL Goldfields are a bit light on for staff?

LEDG you seem to be all over the RDFL/Goldfields more than ever these past 5-6 weeks. Please don't go to the dark side as we love your work when you are non bias, open and honest.
Haha thanks Doona.. I haven't ever been to the dark side and am only bias when Woodend/Hesket are playing and I'm calling, so look out if the Hawks win on Sunday....
I'm in between jobs at the moment mate.. so I've had the opportunity to get more involved.. and putting it bluntly.. I'm not a kiss arse.. it's not my nature.. if anyone thinks otherwise and I'm towing the league line to please the people above, that's their opinion but they're incorrect.. but again, that's their opinion.. I'm only tied to the WH club.. but even that's at a distance .. I'm not close to one club over the other .. I buy club memberships at different clubs each year.. I don't have to, but I like supporting them.. I enjoy the great company of all clubs.. and some of the guys at AFL Goldfields have been some of the closest friends I've had during times of struggle away from footy.. everyone is just trying to do their best.. and what comes around, goes around .. this is a forum to voice opinions.. fair enough.. but at the end of the day, all clubs need to be united and work together.. Macedon and Rockbank did that better than any club this year.. working together to host a successful final.. we need more of that..
I spend more time with those guys working behind the scenes in the competition than most do in the league.. they're mates.. and like a mate.. if things are tough, you feel for them and give them a chop out .. I get protective of people who get canned and I know they're busting their arse more than those that can them.. doesn't matter which club or background you're from.. I don't do things for the respect of others and to get my face out there.. I do them because it gets me around the quality people around the league ..
I spent time with club sponsors of Diggers today.. using their services.. they knew me from radio.. we formed a friendship straight away.. talking about life and their business.. that's what it's all about ..
This isn't days of our lives.. this is the end of a long season and we're all emotionally exhausted .. best of luck on Sunday!

Wouldn't they be the only clubs that actually switched a finals venue this season? But they did it better than any other club? Bahahahaha

Never once questioned your moral make-up pal because you go over and above continually for the RDFL. You do however have to understand there are a lot of unhappy campers and unlike a forum environment like this, sadly not everyone is convinced by the way things appear to function at times - so yeh a rundown from both junior and senior vote counts should be made available and if it's due to lack of resources then Steve has been let down massively by his superiors further out the road.

Just like the whole 2008/2009 situation with a previous RDFL administrator was .... to this day I can't still get around the fact (good, bad, otherwise) that nothing ever come of it :p

Sorry to all, didn't mean to create a S*it storm with my umpires votes being made available to the followers of the RDFL, I personally thought that was common practise.

I can't be fu@ked going to work tomorrow I wonder if I can get some volunteers to do my job for which the volunteers pay me to do for me (DOES THAT SOUND FU@KED UP TO YOU CHRIS OR SHOULD I PUT IT MORE SIMPLY FOR YOU TO FATHOM) but that's just my opinion!!!

Back onto the GF talk, will there be the one change at Diggers like mentioned earlier in the week and who comes into the Riddell team for Allen?

No problem with wet weather footy, that was not the point. A few posts about how wet and crappy the ground is so I asked the question what the condition is like. If it drains well, great, if it is only gonna be a bit damp, bit of mud..super, if the locals are confident of getting a good ground to showcase the game terrific. The point was that should another ground be on standby 'in case' the ground is under water that was all, and it was only a question. Just want to see the best possible showcase of this leagues big game as possible. Hopefully Romsey ground can provide that. Still think it should be at lancefield ;)

Ground looked better tonight but is really wet far wing side and won't dry out and more rain forecast should it be moved no and if so not to lancefield nothing against the good folk down there but there is no atmosphere at that ground ....

Did James House get the Rockbank gig?? saw him in a local pub in Sunbury a couple of weeks back and alot of smiles and hand shakes were exchanged. He knows a lot of ball players and perhaps he could get some out of Strathmore and take the rams straight back up the ladder. I say good move by Rockbank if its done.

Melton Sth I believe

With all the fees the Rdfl charge can't they go and hire a super sopper or whatever they are called to at least pick up the puddles that are being described. Have someone there roping the grass all Saturday after the sopper has picked up all the water it can. It's still going to be classic wet weather football but this could perhaps help. Not to mention there are 2 games before the main game.

I thought the same thing. To think all the grounds in Vic that could utilize a super sopper this time of the year for finals?

So I along with a few others been. negative and critical the past week time to put that aside and focus on the big day.
Gotta say the inclusion of Rdfl netball bout 10 ?years ago has been a winner and is good for all involved.I know the Northern league run a netball comp but thats on a Friday night not real good for club unity I dont think.
Come Sunday night around 40 netballers and 60 odd footballers will have a premiership medal and forever memories.
Heres hoping for injury free matches full of hard and fair contests and plenty of skill with close finishes.
Good luck to all Coaches players and umpires.
Looking forward to cold beer and Romsey burger. And for f-ck sake please no complaints about ground surface its been wet so what? man up and get on with it.

Yea he should go from one great club to another great club. Who would want to help a football club that needs support. Shit that would be a challenge and who would want that?
Would you be interested in coaching the RAMS again?? Heard you done great things down there before you left!!! Have they had a chat to you about a possible return to lead them out of the struggle they seem to be in??????

Which umpires got the big gig, cannot access their website?

Senior Grand Final
Diggers Rest V Riddell

Field - Paul Mcgarry, Billy Mitchell and Chris Stead.
Emergency - Robert Semmens

Boundary - Andrew O'Keeffe, Joshua Martin, Zach Patrick and David Edwards.

Goals - David Hili and Jack Wilson.

Billy Mitchell God help us

Here we go again. It's not even the game and you're starting this nonsense. What's on your football resume peanut?

Another idiot hiding behind an alias.

Except for a few genuine people who love their footy who are prepared to put their two bobs worth forward using their actual real name. Grow up.
