Had a great year really well deserved and very consistent. Very low count though ? Thoughts IMS

Very strange count to be honest mate, really surprised with the low totals for Hetherington and Toman.

If you don't want a job that's been set up for you can you share why not? You were there for half of the 2017 season and left. Is there something wrong behind the club doors maybe?
Please explain why it would it be set up for me? I have had no contact with the footy club or anyone involved with it for over 10 weeks and that's a fact. I left because I started a new job (first one since my accident 3 years ago) and for no other reason at all. So who ever is feeding you info is having a lend mate.

Hi champ great to see you back on your feet, you have no one to answer to you have given plenty to the club and to local footy also great to see your life is back on track after your accident wish you and your family all the best mate

Imo Hetherington was b&f every day of the week. Cooke was great. And T Cuff runners up. Must be because of the shadows of his father. Plenty of others that well deserve that one.
I thought Toman or Hetherington had to get it, Jack O'Sullivan was good too but even for him to beat Hetherington in Rising Gun is a bit silly. Hetherington played in the middle, heap of the ball and finished third in league goalkicking and playing in a top two team.

Would've been good to see Tessari win and break the trend of midfield.

Cooke a good year but I am certain one game he got 3 votes when he would've been lucky to get 3 possessions??.. maybe put the award into the hands of voters that have some idea. Umpires clearly can't do it.

We must remember that the Bowen is awarded on umpires votes and given Brad Hardy and Bryan Wilson won Brownlows it could always be argued whether they got it correct. Good work By Cooke to kick that many, however perhaps time in the middle also helped his cause. Seany , Ben Toman and Jack are also great players albeit I am not sure they are the kind to be anything but exited at the years they had.

Roll on the prelim and hopefully Sean H will give all a look at what he can do.

Go Sharks

Congratulations on your new job, great to hear. Sources tell me that your received a call or text form one of the committee weeks before the end of the season to ask you come back. What's your thoughts on the future of the club with Dicko being pushed away, no doubt a lot of players will follow where ever he ends up.

Quality people at Sunbury, no doubt they are and will continue to work tirelessly to find the right fit.
Dixon one of the most knowledgeable coaches in the area IMO seems maybe the fit wasnt quite right between the two parties in the end.

Congrats to all winners from last night

Come on mate you are kidding right. Not an ounce of truth in that I can assure you. I have had many conversations with surrounding clubs regarding possible coaching roles but on no occasion have I ever had a conversation or text regarding coaching the Kangas. In my honest opinion they need a coach that has had no affiliation with the club and he can then bring his own new ideas ect. Massive congrats to Tie Cuffe as well, missed a few games with injury as well.

Mate the Comp going to put a link to the list of who got votes in all grades on the website. It has been done in the past .

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app

Websites aren't properly functioning at the moment mate.. still working on it.. would love to see an example of the votes being put up in the past so I can replicate it =)

Generally I think the clubs have been emailed a copy of the votes, I think that the spreadsheet has been uploaded previously

Dixon one of the most knowledgeable coaches in the area IMO seems maybe the fit wasnt quite right between the two parties in the end.

So where will Jarrad bob up? Far too into his footy to not be of use to someone surely.

Very strange count to be honest mate, really surprised with the low totals for Hetherington and Toman.

Hetherington was my pick a fair way out, with Jesse Davies and Toman in the mix. I would love to see the breakdown as if he didn't get top votes the 3 Rupo games I got to then I'll be buggered.

I ask this question every year, but could someone please explain to me what the criteria is for club of the year? What are the votes awarded for?

91. Club of the Year Award

The League may arrange an award each season for the club judged the club of the year, which is considered to have conducted it’s affairs

during the season in the most efficient and lawful manner conducive to the best administrative practices of a football club and most disciplined

• For Under 18.5 comp, any club which does not have an Under 18.5 team, use the average of all clubs

• For Under 18.5 comp, average out each club in the event of uneven fixture (if we end up with uneven affiliation numbers).

• Deduct 10 points for each individual rating of zero in the umpire ratings

• Deduct 10 points per week that a club player is suspended (either set penalty, or tribunal verdict)

• Deduct 10 points for each fine handed down, as per umpire match report sheet

• Deduct 50 points for failing to have club attendance at an RDFNL mandatory meeting, inclusive of coach & umpire forum

• Deduct 20 points for failing to supply club notes prior to weekly deadline

• Points deduction for aged debt as at August 1st. 2 points per $100 in the 61-90 day category, 5 points per $100 in the 90+ day category

Thanks for clearing that up. So it has nothing to do with on field performance of footy and netball teams then?
