You can lay the blame with the issues in the Under 16's with the Umpires Association and their appointments.

Under 16' should have senior umpires and they decided in their wisdom to appoint incompetant junior umpires.

The 16A's was a shocker the most junior umpire went to school with most of the players at Rupo and it showed. He spoilt the game and made it into a farce.

Well done Rupo especially the display your players made at the Lions party.
The umpires cant be blamed for the Sunbury kid throwing a cheap shot at a Melton kid as everyone else was shaking hands after the game (16c's).

"Humble in victory - Gracious in defeat" I think not !

I see a real problem with the umpires in the jnr comp. Many of the umpires have a connection with players or clubs involved in games that they are officiating in . We are all aware of the problems involved in filling all the umpires spots during the home and away season . But for vice presidents and team officials to umpire games involving the clubs to which they belong is ridiculous . must make it very hard for them to remain unbiased especially when it comes to best and fairest votes .
Who did the u14 b grand final ? I thought they did a shocking job . Didn't have an effect on the result . But it must be frustrating for the kids when they get it wrong so many times .

Could we (RDFL club's) be heading up to the snow next year to play footy. This year was a cold winter, with the snow line down to around 400 mtrs on some day's...

The club in question got a few bad result's in the last few round's of this year.

The RDFL need's to get rid of the bye, May be the RDFL could grow a little over next 5 year's and go to two Div's may be we dont need the bigger club's back here , may be look to bring the smaller clubs into the leauge ?

What club's would fit ?

Well, I thought the umpires in the Under 14B Grand Final did a really good job to be honest.. They didn't over umpire and made decisions on what they saw... But opinions will always differ.

The "Iceman" did my sons game, 14a's and as usual did a great job. He is by far the best ump i have seen this year in the juniors.

He is the best umpire in the competition me thinks... You always know what you are going to get with Ice... Called as he sees it with no invisible chip on his shoulder that demands "I am ALWAYS RIGHT"... Ice will always give clear and concise umpiring performances...

I agree. Perhaps not the very best in terms of decision making, but communicates well with players and is happy to accept that he makes mistakes. Loves a beer with the boys after a game and despite his red hair, isn't a bad fella.

Can't believe the "RDFL's leading scribe" hasn't been onto this story.

Chieftont, you will be proud of this SCOOOOOOP old son.

Kilmore Football Club held its presentation and vote count night on Saturday and the word is that former star Matt Robertson had his votes removed from the count and was deemed inelligible to win the medal.

A little birdy told me that he also had enough votes to secure victory before he left. Has this ever been heard of before? Surely the Blues have a little bit more class than that?

I hope the decision to remove Matty's lovechild was made at committee level in an official capacity and not just a couple of executives.

Get over it chief... You were smashed by a far better and more talented side. And before you cast aspersions, just remember the way the Lions parents carried on after the 2nd semi - personally berating and taunting the Rupo players. I noticed those fools were nowhere to be seen after the game last week. Great performance also from the Lions runner, yelling expletives at 16 year old kids on the ground - I'm sure your club is extremely proud of his efforts. You got what you deserved. :p

Everyone involved with the Lions 16A's caused problems on the day, was to much for junior football

I've heard about it and I don't really want to comment. All I will say is that what has occurred this season is very sad. If the club didn't have a talented Under 18s side, many would be saying the Blues would be close to folding up. I'm sure they'll recover, but it won't be for a couple of years.

Attack is the greatest form of defence. Why don't you ask your angelic 16 year old player what he said to the runner, it was even more expletive....probably why he didn't front up at the tribunal.

I never saw any of the juniors grand final day, but what I have read here today there are a few (maybe a lot) of parents that need to have a good long look at themselves. What chance have kids got if parent behave like this! Junior Football right? Go read the parents code of conduct!!!

Can you confirm that the runner was suspended for 6 weeks ??
As a match day official he is charged with the responsibility of setting the standard for the lads entrusted with his care - he oughta have a good hard look at himself.
I feel terribly sorry for the Sunbury Pres, as he is a great bloke and doesn't deserve to put up with the performance of some people associated with his footy club.

Matty most of the under 18's are Broadford kids they will go back to their club when they become senior footballers.

I see you are still having a crack at wallan this time the grd condition, the surface has been down for 1 year and will improve to the standard of the seymour grd in time

What happen to your prediction about kilmore at the start of the year not far off were you.

And wallan played 6 sides and has 4 in the finals not bad for a club you said would go nowhere at the start of the year

Matty keep up the good work.

robbo finished 4th in the votes, think you guys need to realise he didnt play half the season! as for the under 18s going back to broadford utter rubbish the boys love playin at kilmore, as for the club folding what a crock of shit, you guys talk alot of jargon... there was no set squads for the remainder of the season, its easy to pick shit from the outside. there were over 200 people at kilmores end of season ball exception of maybe 3 or 4 players...
till your inside a club and see what really goes on you cant comment...
one bad season by the snrs doesnt make a club fold we are financially stable and have good sponsors as well as a great committee and a bright future of youth. most of the blokes in the snrs are young fellas with a few old heads!
kilmore wont go anywhere and we will make a big impact in our teams respective finals campaigns
as for matt nicholls you are a tool and not only am i glad to see you go i hope you stay up there!
i wouldnt show your head around kilmore after the utter crap you have posted on here and the garbage that you put in your poor excuse of what you call articles. wallans ground wont get to the standard of seymours, you cant have a high standard ground with poor water restrictions as well as a cricket pitch smack bang in the middle

So you condone the behaviour of the Melton Water Carrier an adult who was brave enough to punch two 15 year olds.

But the RDFL investigation will get to the bottom of what happened. ;)

Yep given 6 weeks, and the charge was was changed 4 times, that is another matter, that may be appealed. Sunbury President is great, so is the commitee, and as with most clubs you get the odd parent that goes overboard but overall they are a well behaved club. Except if treated as unfairly as we were on Sunday. Yeah you can say we set the standard but when the opposition are feral and play very unsportsmanlike tactics before the game and then go into it and keep it up, frustration builds up. As an example, the day before the game one of their players posts a picture on myspace saying his finger is broken because of basketball, turns up at the game with his hand bandaged up, then runs on the ground to play. No bandage on the hand or finger. I take it you are condoning the Rupo player calling the Sunbury runner a very expletive name. this will go further, too late for the Sunbury Lads that had their back against the wall and will go onto bigger and better things and had an aftergame celebration without nastiness or trouble.

You must be joking, they are too gutless and stupid to do anything. It will just be the same old story, that they will look at it and change it next year and it will never happen.

Mate the ground condition is a shambles and it always will be when placed on the side of a hill. Just a quick question, why did it take Wallan FC to change leagues for them to pull their fingers out and start playing some decent footy? The second divvy of the Northern FL is not that much difference to the RDFL mate. If you actually read my articles each week, you will know that I have had nothing but positives to say about Wallan's season to date. All you remember is a couple of criticisms at the start of the year.

As for you Hede, you may not be up in Aaron James territory, but you are a sooky little whining baby that has more talent than most others, but will never be a star footballer because if things don't go your way you just drop the bundle. Unfortunately for Kilmore they had too many players like you this season. The kids were great when they were elevated into the seniors, and the likes of Kingy, Twitty, Colliver and Goudge ensured that the Blues didn't completely lose their reputation this season.
With a whole new committee expected to take over at the upcoming AGM, Kilmore would want to get the right people on board or they will be in some strife.

Interesting post - the injured player mentioned did indeed dislocate his finger twice over the weekend and played strapped and with an RDFL approved glove on the hand, as did another player who was nursing an injured thumb, if this is unsporting, then I'm afraid every club in the known universe is to be guilty as charged. Me thinks you are a little dirty as he was an ex Sunbury player... My mail on the runner incident is that the comment was merely a return of serve. I would hesitate to say that an adult berating lads on the field is unsportsmanlike and I believe this bloke has form in this area - anyway the league has dealt with that so I will comment no further.
Hats off to the Rupo boys, this group has lost only 9 games over the past 7 years and won 6 out of 6 flags on offer throughout their journey and richly deserved their victory on the weekend. An undisputable fact.

Did you read my post ?

I hope the RDFL do investigate this and ban the Sunbury kid for starting the whole thing.

Sunbury FC (juniors and Seniors) have a terrible reputation for this type of behaviour and have for years. Maybe they have to have a look into it themselves.

You seem to know exactly what happened bearsboy - so you saw the Sunbury kid start the whole thing did you - make sure you make your statement to the appointed RDFL Independent Investigator - if you dont know who that is get in touch with Scott McCartney (General Manager of the RDFL) and I am sure he will point you in the right direction.

And of course you conveniently missed the point I made with regard to a supposed mature adult assaulting two children in all this - instead focussing on supposed past reputation of Sunbury. Lumping in the Sunbury Junior Club with the Sunbury Senior Club.

Do you realize that both clubs are separate entities, with separate committees and have no legal association with each other - but no its convenient for your spurious argument to lump both together.

Instead of raising your past prejudices why dont you take a moment to realize that the Melton Junior Football Club Committee are just as disgusted with behaviour of their Water Carrier in this game - and that they have worked long and hard to improve the image of their football club (as have the committee of the Sunbury Junior Football Club).
