If Giddings coaches Woodend-Hesket, Dowling is no chance to pull on a Hawks jumper next year. I'm told by a heavy at Woodend that if Sipthorp plays, he'll pull his sponsorship, which I'm told is pretty lucrative for the Gilbert Gordon lads.

But at this stage, anything can happen.

I don't tend to put too many rumours in the paper Rodriguez, even in the silly season. Its not fair on the players in question IMO.

Hey B.O.G, if I have my whispers right here goes: Brett Barron, 6'1 Wingman, that is quick and hard a,d can hit targets from 50 both sides. Steve Goodwin, 6'2 Ruckman just a pretty hard nut and can also run skills ok. Darren Goodwin, 6ft again hard and tough at it will prob play on ball or chf. Tim Goodwin. 6'1 Backman, can run and again is hard at it. Geoff O'Connor 5'11 will swap between centre and ff I would say..............hope that helps.

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

Hahah. I'm finished from footy, even though i'm just a shitkicker I've promised myself I have finished. With two wires holding my scaphoid bone together I don't want to do any long-term damage. I played cricket on the weekend and hardly contributed. Opened the batting and occupied the crease for 14 overs for a meagre 6 runs. Don't have any power in the wrist yet, still got six weeks of physio left.

I'm sure your boy will stay and play a big part in a premiership side next year.

matt.. omni is a bit of a macedon man. and im sure his son would have his blessing if he was to move clubs. would be a great pick up for macedon or any other club....:):):)

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

Care to enlighten us all smartie as to why a Dual Bendigo League B&F Medalist would be training at the Cattery at present ?

Glad to see you were watching champ,
More interested to see the sponsors there as well.
Question should be has the cattery tapped into the millionaires mile, last time this happened was in the late 70's you should remember them.

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

You must be a superstar cockroach

I don't mind Ruane, but personally, I've never seen him dominate against Romsey or any other top side for that matter.

Given that he has won a league B&F he is a gun player, but then again Brad Hardy won a Brownlow. Just kidding. He's a good footballer no doubt, but close to the best mark in the league? I dont think so. There's a few guys at Riddell that might disagree, Brydan Morgan is no slouch either, nor is Ryan Connellan, or Phil Conway, Sipthorpe or Steve Burlak just to name a few.

I could be a little biased as i play with him every week..
Just getting my point across though he would up there with all those guys as far as marking goes

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

Lee James is the best mark in the comp..... No doubt about it! The leap and his coverage of the 50m makes him the best mark!

Roo, is a more than a good player when Diggers are firing, when their not he falls back into the pack a little, however can play almost anywhere, good bloke to! Good clubman to gain to almost any club! Will be missed by the burra.

dont be silly.
there is absolutely no way you could prove lee james to be the best mark in the comp.
there isnt much chance of proving anyone is the best.
people have their good days and people have their bad days.
and it isnt possible to argue that he is better than however many hundreds of blokes train or play with an R.D.F.L side.

evryone is entitled to their opinon, but to be able to prove something like that without reasonable doubt is just about impossible.

Sorry burra Lee James easily the best mark in the RDFL !!!!!

Jamesy is the only player in this league who people go to watch just for his marking ability, hope you get to see it first hand next year.

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

Hey guys - contrary to some posts the burra is looking great guns at training. There are plenty of boys down there who are really keen to put the hard yards in and fill the holes that are being vacated by well known players. I perdict the loss of such players will make the club even stronger and really think we have the talent to cover these guys and have a great year. Expect great things from the Burra in 08.

In news thats probably not well known around the comp yet rising young gun Gerard Hannan has been lured away from Diggers to Sydney side North Shore Bombers. Apparently they have been watching him for sometime and have made him an offer he couldn't refuse. This will no doubt also be a big loss to the Burra in 08!
