Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

who got up today kilmore or yarraville seddon?

play today mate :thumbsu:

Kilmore seemed to have Yarraville covered when I left just b4 half time. Think it was 6.3 to 1.7 of something close to that. Blues appeared to be missing a few familiar faces, Goudge & Robbo did some impressive things whilst I was there, big Carroll was tapping it around good ok and dropped back to take marks, Colliver and Kenyon also looked ok thru the middle and vantheman had a fair bit of it in his new back flank role but I think the ball was flat or something as his usual neat disposal had abandoned him for most the first half ;)

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

mmmm the mercenary, i see you have wrote on our CMFL site its been a while since you have been on there. I see you mentioned Troy Smiley, i think those boys played for the eagles up our way... I hope they are not playing we had never seen a bunch of *******s like it playing in our league, the poor eagles got taken for a ride those years.......

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

i watched heatchote vs riddell today...pretty close match they were pretty even, heathcote ended up winning by 3 or 4 goals

both clubs were down 5-6 players so it was more of a match where they were trying to scrape the cobwebs away before the season. I think if both clubs were full strength they would be very similair in terms of ability...

*just a tip for other clubs in the riddell league this year, look out for sam young...if he stays fit, he'll win the bowen...if you dont shut him down he'll dominate, looked pretty dominant today

I am with you Catters - if he stays fit and does not get suspeneded he will poll a lot of votes.

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

watched the redbacks saturday not much opposition from jacana so the redbacks looked ok,if not a little undisciplened,to give away that many 50mt and downfield frees aganst a quality side will hurt

Howd it all end up fella's, van, pickles, anyone? Kilmore ressies seemed to move the ball well in the last term to kick the last few goals and post a win also

Diggers rest played on saturday against redhill.. A team down mornington way that finished last in 07.
The burra lost by 4 goals not a great game by the burras. Only a few good signs from Davis, Jose and Underwood

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

Saw a half of the Romsey v Jacana and the Lancefield v Newlyn games on Saturday, and the full Kilmore v Yarraville Seddon match yesterday.

All three sides had good wins, but I must say wasn't impressed with their opposition.

For Romsey, Adrian Baker was simply awesome. He was amongst everything when it went forward and will give full backs headaches this winter. Notable performances went the way of Luke Baker, Cam Dawson and Matt McLellan.

At Lancefield, recruit Tom Waters DOMINATED. The word is that in the club's intraclub a couple of weeks ago he and Phil Conway went head to head and Phil couldn't get near it. At only 21 years of age, he's still light on, but has footy smarts and skill to really do some damage.

The Tigers' on-ball brigade of Choate, Collins and Shewan dominated, while Smithwick up forward looked dangerous, as did Benny Talbot. My mate Rick Dowling looked a little rusty in his first hitout since he was axed from the Hawks.

Kilmore looked good yesterday, after being scrappy early. Matt Robertson = FREAK. Just far too good for his rivals. Big Al Carroll did some good things in the ruck and down back. Goudge and Colliver, along with Daniel Kenyon worked well on the ball. Up forward, Chris Temperley provided an option, while the goals were well shared.

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

I guess we will have to wait to see if Dave Cornish will turn out in black and white this year. Would be good if he does. Another big name ready to play for Wallan but yet to sign. Cant wait for 1st round. Bring on Rockbank.:):):):)

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

we got up by 15 goals with a handful of players out was a good sign, best for the day were goudge, carroll, robertson, saunders and finnigan, young fella kelly (16 yr old) bagged 3 goals and looks very comfy against the men
salter strayeny king sapiano d antonio were all abset
i agree with you doona i had issues with the ball in the first half...
it had been used in 3 games so the kickin was suspect... was a good win and a good evening down at the red afterwards drinkin pots havin a meal and watchin gladiators!
not liking our chances of keeping cornish but there is a fair chance that he might not get to play for any side in 2008
