Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

its very easy to say the time is now, and the weak went elsewhere. but coaches need respect and need to be honest to the playin group. would love to know who the weak are. im sure there decisions had nothing to do with pre season training. to many new players never works, tryin to buy premierships often bites football clubs on the arse. you need a bond and good nucleus of blokes that play for the jumper and not the money. that brings success.

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

why would blokes want to return........ heard the senior side is blewin amongst themselves and there certainly not gettin the job done on the field so far. no commitment and poor coaching looked like the problem on friday

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

Hey boys, for those of you who haven't heard Ollie Matthews will be officiating in his 900th game this weekend in the kilmore vs wallan clash. Ollie has been a great servant of the League and the umpires association for well over 35 years. There is a write up about it in the umpires section of the rdfl website :thumbsu:

U22, noticed yesterday there was a meeting with ollie, scott and glen, are they organising anything big for the Great Man?? I think they should because this man is a credit to the rdfl. Where is he umpiring? I hope he is at our game!

Would like to be there, spewing, congrats Ollie! And what a match that will be out at Kilmore. Speers just adding a little spice to the game. Is it true like past posts have suggested that Kilmore have a few rumblings within? Or have I read that wrong again!? Im tipping Wallan convincingly. Apparently the best forward line in the league... is that right matt??

Second best behind Riddell. I don't think there have been any rumblings within players in the senior team. The Blues made six changes last night, so expect them to come out firing. I also think Wallan will win. Also, that stuff that was on the KFNC website was written by Speers before the start of the season. Interesting to see it came out this week on BF. Should be a cracker, and congrats to Ollie on 900 games.

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

I'll do some tips for this week, seeing as we have the bye this weekend.
It will good to have a look at a few games

Woodend Vs Sunbury
Cracker game - have heard from Woodend captain that Sipthorpe should return this week. Close game but i think sunbury will just get over the line
Roos by 7 points

Kilmore Vs Wallan
Another cracker game - Wallan played well last week to beat romsey, but im tipping Kilmore at home in this big rivalry clash
Kilmore 10 points

Lancefield Vs Macedon
No idea for this game, but ill go with Lancefield at home by 9 points

Melton Vs Riddel
I think Melton will really give it to Riddel down at maccy park. But Riddel will be too strong again Riddel by 35 points

Good luck to all :thumbsu:

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

Kanga's to win the flag for a 3 peat and Diggers to choke in ANOTHER finals series (if they get there, from all reports they are pretty bad this year)

Where do you get your info from ?

3 peat ? ..... well thats only is you dont stack your 2s when you know the ones are over

Re: R.d.f.l Thread 2008

Sorry lads, but I've had some issues with www.centralsport.org lately and haven't been able to publish stories or PickleBet.

This week's odds and stories are now up.

For interest sake, here are this week's odds:

ROUND 4 - Seniors
Wallan $1.75 v Kilmore $2.10
Riddell $1.20 v Melton Central $3.80
Macedon $1.65 v Lancefield $2.15
Sunbury Kangaroos $1.85 v Woodend-Hesket $1.90
Romsey $1.15 v Rockbank $4.50

Not sure if you can say that any club is bad after 3 games. As for the 2's 3peat, if it happens it happens, It is all about the seniors, a club could win 10 reserves grand finals in a row but is not considered a successful club until the seniors get the big one.

I dont think any club with seniors being a chance of making finals would stack the 2's. It didn't happen the last 2 years and i don't think it would happen this year.

So you've picked one team to win the flag and referred to the other as pretty bad yet when these two teams played it came down to a solitary kick which landed just metres short of winning the game for diggers. From what ive seen Diggers have showed no signs that they wont be there yet again come finals time but i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

3 years ago... Is that we are talking??

"Rovers" played Riddell at Diggers Rest.. The only "senior" players that played in that game were players that played less than the required amount of "Senior" games for the season... There was approx 3.
