Ok fellas... found some inside goss about the first week finals and it looks like common sense has prevailed at board level in the R.D.F.L.

Centrals will be running ALL bars at both grounds :thumbsu:

Rumour has it that R.D.F.L has promised Centrals that their finals games (if they make it) will be played on Sunday. Well done to the R.D.F.L for looking after an R.D.F.L club!

However...

Unfortunately, Melton Bloods juniors are running number 1 oval canteen and maybe a BBQ. Also, Melton Bloods seniors have asked Centrals for a payment for using the ground and facilities!!! If this payment is not made then the league cannot use the ground, therefore the final will be relocated (Macedon maybe!!!). But also there is a threat that Centrals won't get a final at all! Should the league step in and stop this big club bullying??

From what I heard, Centrals suggested that Rockbank run the canteen at number 1 oval, but Bloods have stepped in to stop such a suggestion.

Anyway, it looks like the commitee at Centrals have tried hard to rectify the whole situation. Like I said before, I'll buy all my frothies from Centrals bars (which is all of them) and all my food from the BBQ's and canteen that Centrals are running. Hopefully that will in some way help a club bullied by their bigger rivals!

Ummm Hutchy... who the f@#$ are you??? you seem to have more goss about my club than i do!! where are you from?

All i can tell you is that yes, we are running all bars and our canteen plus a few bbqs around both grounds. we have worked really hard to ensure the day goes ahead and hans (president) has put in the hard yakka to do so. yes we have to work with melton but that is a fact of running a club within melton. you have to work with other clubs to get somewhere, to stay alive! we don't have the manpower to run both grounds, so bloods running a canteen is a bonus for us. less stressful.

i think its fantastic that everyone here on bigfooty will support us on the day, and you have been a big advocate for that. that's all we can ask for... make sure you come and have a beer with me, ill be running one of the bars!!

Woodend by 70
Diggers by 35
Melton by 4
Riddell by 68
Me to see a ripper of a game with the cats to get up by 11

And Roy 'Social Police' Cazaly to still not have a clue what he is talking about.

Omni’s Tips for Round 17.

In the most important Clash of the round Macedon v Wallan these two sides look to be very evenly matched, & I find it extremely difficult to separate them……………… So I wont….. DRAW !

Woodend to be way to good for Rockbank, in what should be little more than a training run……… Hawks by 900 pts.

Diggers to make the long trek up to Kilmore for an easy 60 point victory, with their usual suspects Laurie, Jose & Sims to get plenty of it.

Will be nice to see my old Kanga mates again tomorrow in a Match they will probably once again treat as a Social outing………… Bombers by 100 + pts.

Now here we will have a Contest, Melton v Lancefield. Two sides that should be very desperate & hard at it, in an effort to stay in the Finals race. I am very tempted to make the trip over to Melton for this one, should be a cracker. Could kill 2 birds with 1 stone whilst I was there & take a DUMP in the Bloods Canteen !
Tigers to end a valiant Melton season by being to good at the stoppages & having an in form Forward to shoot it down too, winning by 13 pts.

Good luck all. :thumbsu:

donegal seeing i have already been accused of being you.i will offer a comment.a lot of crap gets posted on these threads and all the better the thread 4 it.BUT i am a former macedon player and captain and i dont think you are helping the club with sum of these comments.yes u have every right 2 be excited about your current list and form, and u seem passionate enuf.HOWEVER i dont hink my former club is in any position to be boasting.consistancy and success over a two or three year period and then perhaps u will have merit in what your saying.im treading carefully here because i might know u.but maybe u should keep sum of your noticeable excitement 2 yourself and try not 2 bag the clubs that have spanked u consistently for many years now.cheers mongrel

Ports colours,Jeff Andrews, and that guy was head of his time,he took a young list and played finals and its been ten years atleast!its just that finals footy gets my blood boiling CARN THE CATS

my tips for round 11:
SENIORS:
Macedon FC to show the league that they are serious contenders by overcoming Woodend/Hesket in a close one by 10points. The Big Rig to get best on with a lazy 6.

I rate Warren Else as the best Fullback in the comp. If your 'Big Rig' is to kick 6 he will be the best player. Woodies by 4 (at least)

SON'S OF TONY CLARKE RESERVE call upon the former player's at the kanga's to beat CENTRAL next week.We win at rockbank and centrals lose we play final's,ITS A CALL TO ARMS:confused:

ive heard that there are 4 clubs trying to gain admittance into the rdfl. I was just wondering is this true and who these clubs are?

Also went and saw centrals vs lancefield on the weekend, it was a pretty good game, the centrals boys just having a little too much run and class in the final quarter.

T'was the beginning of the end of the old macedon football club.
bought in players that the club couldn't afford, had no interest in bringing through an under 18's side into the club, when the junior club were going to pay all costs, instead allowing gun juniors to disappear to clubs like gisborne .had no interest in local players ,who were treated like leppers in their own club .if you weren't recruited then you would be no chance of playing senior footy regardless of how badly some of the mercenaries were playing. after his ist full year coaching in 97 (jim buckley coached the ist 5 games the year previous)18 local players walked out including mick moore and johnnny tadd.
yeah they made a prelim and sent the joint broke.as soon as the money well dried up most took off to find their next pay packet .
by the time polly took over there was barely a player left behind .
and yet another coach moved on to bigger things on the wave of destruction he left behind and corpse of this once proud club were left for the next poor bugger to try to resurrect.
blokes such as supercat ,(dean helmers), grubby and hawkins were a rarity in those days as they were amongst the rare few that actually attended social functions and hung around playing manilla till all hours of the morning after thurday nights

If you actually go back and read it properly I only wrote the last line - it was with reference to an earlier post. And by the way, the Woods did win by 4 -5 goals if I remember rightly and your big rig didn't do much. No black kettle here!

Still playing finals now you have shot your mouth off? They might make it but their destiny is in the hands of others. I would like to see them in, it is just mouths like you that spoil it for them!!
