Bit of a change in order with Lancefield grabbing 5th today, but facing Sunbury, Rupo, Riddell in the run home. Either way hats of to Tills (and his group), he was sitting where I am not that long ago but finally is reaping some reward for the time he's putting in :thumbsu:

Everyone has three to go, with some big games yet to come in the context of things.

28 .... Lancefield
24 .... Macedon/Rupo/Centrals
20 .... Rockbank/Wallan/Bford.

Was it not as wet at Lancefield today or are they just a good wet weather side?

Ground is in terrible condition and they are taking advantage of these conditions. They are an average side but better prepared for these conditions than the visiting teams.

I wonder what their preparations are Big Jim. Training in the wet on a wet ground? I hope the opposition don't catch onto this ground breaking training technique and lucky for them that no other club's ground is in ordinary condition at this time of year as well. I heard the Lancefield curator was seen turning on the sprinklers on Friday night.
 
I was back home last week and drove past both grounds. No doubt Romsey should host the GF this year with it's new facilities. Lancefield ground will come up well with three weeks off prior to finals, but should only host the prelim, in my opinion. Think Romsey should also get a week 1 final, too. No point playing footy at substandard grounds when you have a venue like Romsey's. Ground could do with some work, but when the sun comes out it will recover quickly.

To host a final, a club must have all their fees paid up to the league. I hear that may be a bit of an issue with Romsey at the momet.

September now looks exciting with Riddell dropping their first game to Diggers.
I think it is now down to Riddell, Diggers and Sunbury.

For what it is worth, I think our GF should be held at Sunbury lions ground. Neutral ground, quality ground, central location for our clubs.

I realise that they won't be featuring in this years final series but I don't think clubs like Broadford and Kilmore would agree with your description of Sunbury being a central location.

Like anyone cares about Kilmore or Broadford ha ha!!! I'll drive a lot further than to Sunbury this year to see finals footy, for me finals are always good to see no matter where they're played.

Way too qualified for that gig mate with my "Football" background, I'm afraid I actually "Know" a thing or two about the game & what it takes to succeed at it !!! That & the fact I can relate to the common man/player, & wont tolerate cronyism or elitism would completely rule me out !!! :rolleyes:
