AFL draft tonight and lots of talk on o'rourke and plowman going top 3, no matter where they go this is further testament to the rdjfl and rdfl as a competition to breed and develop draftees. With guthrie, markworth, Sheridan And Kennedy also going in recent years the league is showing everyone you want a chance to play in a good competition to have a pathway to get to the highest level of footy then this is definitely right up there. Competition continues to grow!

Matthew Dick from Macedon any chance??? I heard a fella from an EDFL club may be a sneaky, there's always 1 or 2 surprises.

So RDFL kids have smashed it at the AFL National Draft tonight. Can anyone do a run down as to who they all are and more importantly which RDFL clubs they hail from? Cheers :)

Great to see the young rdfl stars making it to the big time!!!!!! Its not only a fantastic achievement by the individual players but a great endorsement for the rdfl.:thumbsu:

Jono O'Rourke is from Gissy and Sean Gregory is from Rupo, Matty Dick and Lachie Plowman are from Macedon and Taylor Hine got another shot, from Rupo as well.

Doona,
Don't be sorry Blueboy, it's disappointing indeed for the young blokes who look up to him, but in light of everything that's transpired over Shane's two years at Kilmore he's still given the club top service (2 b&f's) and now heads back to join his mates coming off pretty good form in 2012.
I for one hopes that Jayco, and all those lads I got to meet over the last 12 months have cracking years of football and help get their club straight back up into the top division of the EDFL.

Plenty of clubs chasing a backman or two, but assume he'd be sought as a possible replacement for Sonaghan if the young gun opts to play a better standard again???
You in the market for a former hack player back at the club. chance I could be moving back next year buddy.

Have heard some handy names linked with KDFL & GVFL clubs that are being mentioned around the Broadford traps?? Have you heard anything Doona2

With the big sell of the locals recently, are the younger Broady kids that have done it tough in recent years going to get a look in?

have i missed something here doesnt doona2 coach Kilmore? was some Broadford people at hogans on the weekend for a mutual friends birthday and they were excited about the new coach and the thought Barry Hall playing 4 or 5 home games. One was a parent and admitted his son and couple of hs mates will onbiously struggle to get a game now as a result of the recruiting

If the hack is a former premiership player/best and fairest ..... then my oath.

I’m obviously not privy to the genuine mail, but still have a lot of friends (I think) up home. Was talking to a couple of the Avenel footballers at local cricket on the weekend and they were of the impression that both Andrew Green (their asst.coach) and Robbie Sidebottom were apparently contacted. As far as GVFL players, again only what you hear but names like Paul Kirby (Tat), Trent Fisher (Sey) and Bradley Gleeson (Euroa) have all been thrown around. Was at a BBQ Sunday in Broadford and all 5 names were bandied around there too so who knows.
Good on them for having a go I say, Skip's intentions are good and he wants to try and set the club for a healthy future. There is still a lot of division about whether or not the club should be in the RDFL so what better way to unify and make it all worthwhile than by supporting what Skips put in place and enjoying the ride.
Throw in any of them guys along with Baz, Fletcher, Kelly, Dunne, Webster, Rowbotham, Slade etc and you’d expect things to strengthen massively. Just means those who have been walk ups for the past 4-5 years may have to compete and each other for remaining positions which can be healthy anyway.

Last time the bulk of them blokes played at the club we played finals (2007) and our ressies went thru undefeated, already been comparisons to the depth we had back then.
And if any of them can’t see themselves playing senior football but still have aspirations to do so, then they’re more than welcome to drive 10 minutes to Kilmore and say g’day. This nonsense of “not playing against my old club” isn’t exactly a concern amongst the RDFL, as it’s quite a common occurance which a lot of blokes would attest to and often encouraged if it means blokes are playing football which afterall should be most important.

Heard that Tom Waters has signed with Bendigo Gold and aligned back with Lancefield, good get for the tiges if this the case ???

Bit surprising considering Fitzy is the new Gisborne coach, but good on the Tigers if true as a few at Gisborne were of the belief Riddell had a real lucrative crack at him

Excuse my ignorance but does anybody know what rupo's rdfl guernsey will look like?
They have just changed colours from yellow and blue to yellow and navy blue. Navy base with 3 thick yellow vertical stripes with a wide yellow v across the top. They also have the college emblem above the v. Kind of looks like s set of cricket stumps. Maybe that's what they were going for with the whole birth place of the ashes thing. Juniors wear the same jumper.

With you on this one Doona, I highly doubt he will be aligning himself to Lancefield whilst Fitzy is holding the reigns at Gisborne.

Blueboy67 - Happy Birthday for tomorrow - I would of thought most clubs would be getting pretty good numbers about now.

Hello there EBF 2012, welcome on board. Unfortunately Kilmore aren't attracting big numbers yet but it's still early days. Hopefully they attract a few more in the new year.

Gone a bit quiet on here, any news on recent signings or even just rumours? Hearing about large numbers at Broadford training already.
Yeah, there's probably about 20-30 including about 4 under 18s and 2 under 16s. There's still a fair bit of work to do still.

Yes, speak to your club

Real shame losing two very innovative & progressive thinking members off the Board pal............Come to think of it they were probably the only innovative & progressive thinking members on there !!!

Care to make a comment on the new inclusion/s mate, or what went on at the A.G.M. ?

Surely the good old tender process for hosting finals may have got a mention?

Would also hope the process of choosing grounds for finals is given more flexibility. We saw a final played on a dangerously boggy ground this year because the game was promised to the ground in advance. Shouldn't ever happen again in this league.
