What a joke footy is in Victoria, leagues shouldn't set their points and salary, what's the point of every league doesn't work in unison. The points and salary should be set by AFL Victoria, as all this move does is stuff country footy more, country leagues have less juniors, less points and less salary then metro teams, unless AFL Vic set up a structured system we will see more and more country clubs fold and metro clubs prosper, it beggers belief that after a pandemic where the metro Melbourne was hit hardest and where the state gov is trying to push people to live regionally we have AFL Vic doing the opposite

I wonder what other teams they’ll target ? The toffees out at eynesbury would be interesting to watch ha

haven't you seen what happened when afl vic/goldfields tried to set salary an points? goldfields ruined the rdfl and tried to make it all abot the ballarat league. Its good that the league with the clubs set what thy think is the best for there league becase afl vic prove they dont care about leagues surviving cause they let clubs come an go wen they want, like rupo, broadford, kilmore. Leagues have to be able to look after their clubs best intrest not whats best for afl vic or the league in the next suburb.

There's a reason why the Ballarat league has also moved away from AFL Goldfields and it isn't due to receiving preferential treatment.

No the edfl played a big part in it, by having the biggest salary and points in the state, where they are a retirement fund for ex AFL players, instead of developing their juniors as a general rule and had the points and salary to poach rdfl players

You would think that the league would/should approach Gisborne, Kyneton, Darley, Bacchus the Sunbury teams and Melton's and have a two tiered comp in the next couple of years
This has been raised previously without a significant amount of interest, if a couple of those clubs were to move in the near future it'd likely be to join the EDFL or WRFL.

Is there opportunity for start up clubs?
Bacchus Marsh/Maddingley is growing to the point where it will be considered a metro suburb rather than regional. The population will explode and could definitely support another side in the future. Playing in the RDFL might be a decent selling point as players wont have to travel as far if they just want a social hit out.

Have Romsey got some quality ins? Because there has been quite a few quality outs since they last played. Ladder position pretty flattering IMO

They changed it start of 2020 and the reasoning to was to better appeal as club for all those new housing estates being built out that way
Apologies for the lateness/naivety but when did Rockbank change their name to the Western Rams? and what was the reasoning?

Unsure its a great idea. Yeah they probably had to change something up but doing that probably creates more confusion than anything. Boom suburb that will grow 20 times bigger than what it is now, use the name "Rockbank" and take advantage.
