reading back no one seemed happy with the 2023 u19 grand final either so at least it wasnt another embarrassing whitewash.
RDFL clubs were obviously happy with the knowledge the giants played well outside the age limit this season otherwise it wouldnt have been allowed.

Just interesting that the guy from the RDFNL that oversaw all those exemptions at the time, is now the footy manager at Gissy Giants.

This is going to contribute to some massive score blowouts. .
RDFL is now classed as a Premier competition, and the improving playing standard reflects that status. It makes sense that the length of the quarters mirrors that of comparable leagues.
At the moment the RDFL play matches of 15-20 minutes shorter duration than most other leagues, which is ridiculous. Yes, adding time on will quite probably result in heavier losing margins, but that’s not a good reason to maintain the status quo.

Went and had a look at Wallan's last training session for the year last night.
Micallef, Short and Hayes all looked sharp in the hit out. Great to see Tom Knight has really put in some hard yards.

Rdfnl has always had time on in seniors.

When the clock is stopped (so time on is accumulated)
Is at different stages to most other leagues.
Time on is basically ionly added after a score is signalled by goal Umpires and when a stretcher enters the ground.
Umpires can signal for time on when they see fit.
Other leagues add it for ball out of bounds. Injury if they interfere with the play.

There was always time on. Just changed to AFL rules now. So time on for goals behinds out of bounds and when umpires call it.

What’s the rule, how may junior games do you have to play to be a 1 pointer ?
I think he played more junior games for Kilmore and Whittlesea.

70 games for Wallan all up. From 2014-18 he played for Wallan.
According for the stats, 9 games for Whittlesea and 12 for Kilmore.
In his senior game for Wallan in 2023 he was a 1 pointer.

thirds football even though considered underage dont qualify players as cliub games played.
