Yep, lots of scams. If it leads to any sort of combination of I'm happy to pay the asking price / my phone doesn't have reception due to work / a family member will collect the car / what's your PayPal then just move on with your day

You'll know it's legitimate on Gumtree if you get low balled.

I'm not even sure many people are using gumtree anymore with facebook marketplace available now. Most likely scams.
