I know, that was the joke. The one thats the issue is the tour de france having more viewers thats the FIFA WC, ICC WC and Olympics

If you have say 100,000 spectators each stage, multiplied by 20 (I think TdF typically have around that number if not more), that's only 2 million.

Maybe they made a calculation error.

Haven't received one for a while, always good for a laugh 😅

Please forgive me for stressing you with my predicaments as I know that this letter may come to you as a big surprise.
Meanwhile, I am Madam Elizabeth Edward, 73 years, am from USA, childless. I am suffering from adenocarcinoma Cancer of the lungs for the past 8 years and from all indication my condition is really deteriorating as my doctors have confirmed and courageously advised me that I may not live beyond 4 weeks from now for the reason that the tumor has reached a critical stage which has defiled all forms of medical treatment.
Since my days are numbered, I’ve decided willingly to fulfill my long-time vow to donate to the less privileged in at least 5 poorest countries around the world, the sum of ($18.5M). I have tried to handle this project by myself when I get better but I have seen that my health could not allow me to do so anymore.
If you are interested in running a charity project for the interest of the poor I will like you to introduce yourself to me including your identity card and your project opinion.
And I will introduce you to my account officer for the transfer.
Best Regards!
Elizabeth Edward

I got one threatening to release videos of me from a hacked webcam if I didn't pay a certain amount of bitcoin within 50 hours.

They must have been really pissed off when the people who only gave me 30 hours released the tapes.

Some of you might find this interesting if you want to see how your place has changed over the years

If you go into it and click on the buy aerial photos icon (you don't need to actually buy anything) you can go back through the years and see aerial photos (some grainy ones from as far back as the 50s)

Haven't, I'll keep them in mind next time I'm in Northbridge/feel like getting stabbed.

It's at the quieter end with less people so you'll probably only lose 1 kidney.

But honestly worth the trip IMO.

Gonna have fun with this!

I went to the 2013 TdF, on a tour group with Cycling Australia. We would ride the last 100km+ of each days race route in the morning, and in the afternoon, we'd sit in amongst the team sponsors and watch the race.

We rode up Alpe d'Huez. It's famous for it's 21 turns and corners. The TV estimate for fans on the mountain that day was 1 million fans. And I believe. It was insane riding up, but the ride down was exhilarating and terrifying, and so unbelievable.

I guarantee there were more than 100,000 fans on most stages. What's on tv right now is pretty poor, and not usual.

Highly highly doubt 2 billion people watch it on TV. If it's let say over 20 stages then that is still 100 million tuning in each night and I don't buy that figure.
21 stages. Smack bang in the middle of the European summer holidays. You don't realise how big cycling is in Europe, until you've been over there.

Each days race is designed to finish between 4:30pm and 5pm. There's over 750 million in europe. Then it's streamed live all over the world.

It's not as big as the soccer world cup for a world wide audience, but it would be up there as top 5 for world sports for tv audience.
