Fyfe having a rest and Darcy coming off to prepare were all positives. Switta back in the side should add some pressure in the forward half as well. I understand the hesitancy this week. But, it is a great opportunity to test ourselves.the weather brings in the unknown for both teams
I think resting Fyfe a bit was sensible
Don't know how having an unfit Darcy will work in the rain.
Maybe sub him off early if he is getting toweled. Hate for an injury.

Check round 22, 2022.I think it allows him to grind down Grundy and for Jackson to wear him down further. We need him to continue to build fitness and he is influential enough to do that in the first team.
I suppose if the club thinks it is a concern other than building fitness he will be rested. I quite like playing him into form if possible.

In case anyone is wondering what he's like in the wet.

Darcy...Glendenning-Allen medal and three Brownlow votesFor Darcy or Grundy?
Dominant performance that one. I can't wait to see what he is looking like when he has his fitness up to scratch.Darcy...Glendenning-Allen medal and three Brownlow votes
I think I will put a hold on the fatigue component. Early wins allows teams to manage fatigue, so wins in this next block are crucial for that. We've already started to manage the demands on our senior players proactively. We will win at least 2 of the next 4. I wouldn't be surprised with 3 of the next four.
I think the five games after the bye we will be at best 3 wins 2 losses.
From there I expect us to struggle with fatigue as we finish out the season and play finals.
13-14 wins will be one hell of a season!
Can't wait to see us take it to the Swans this week!

I think our core players are mature enough to get through the whole season.
Jackson could probably do with a week off at some stage.
I think how good our future is looking is the biggest positive this year.We will win at least 2 of the next 4. I wouldn't be surprised with 3 of the next four.

Oh hell make it 16.So you're saying I am not being optimistic enough... 15 wins it is!
Are you referring to Bolton? I thought Chapman was on himJosh Draper just kept an elite goal kicking small forward goalless. He is an absolute gun.
No. It was Draper when Bolton was playing forward. Are you referring to Bolton? I thought Chapman was on him
I think how good our future is looking is the biggest positive this year.
We had the second youngest and 3rd least experienced afl team playing on the weekend. We have the 4th youngest list which at the start of the season was only roughly 1 month on average older than the average age of the rebuilding West Coast. Our seconds (Peel) just smashed the 4th (at the time of the game) ranked WAFL team by a record amount for Peel with Freo listed players driving the win. We also have a ton of draft currency and salary space for trading at season's end. Just a few positives going on at Freo.

Watching the game I thought Draper spent most time on him but perhaps Chappy and him switched up more than I thought. Draper also played on Dustin Martin when he was deep forward. Either way Chappy playing well on Bolton is also significant and positive. Chappy's kicking was again fantastic. In his interview with 6PR (I think). Chappy talks about playing on Bolton last week. DragoDelph posted the link in the media thread yesterday.
If Draper was able to switch onto him it is a big deal as well.
