Grant Weeks has this week announced his retirement from footy on medical advice. He has a prolapsed disc in his back and feels it will be better for his long term health to retire at age 30. When reading the article in the local paper I discovered Weeks had also played senior footy for St Mary's in Darwin, so I have added those goals into his career total.

I'll try looking into Lovell's 1978 season with South Bendigo at the local library next week. I know he also played for Sandhurst in 1979 so perhaps there are two more seasons which can be uncovered.

1275 goals were kicked by Carlyle Martin for Mole Creek

Also Matt Walsh, who became a legendary goalkicker with Cairns Saints, kicked 1093 goals during his 2006-2016 stint in Queensland. However Walsh also spent time with Lake Wendouree, VFL club North Ballarat and Redan and has recently played with Geelong Amateurs back in Victoria so would probably be closer to the 1500 goal mark.

Always seems to be a few big goal kickers in the far north. Kye Chapple has kicked the ton on each of the past three seasons for Port Douglas I think. Played a game or two for GC in the NEAFL. Think he’s also kicked bags in the NTFL and country footy in Vic.
