First up game was a 15 point (I think...) loss to Raw Toast's team, The Yeah Nah's. We thought we'd only lost by 1 point, but it turns out my brother is the worst scorekeeper the world has ever produced.

Very well contested match, solid debuts from Kane and Keiren, and Anthony had a fairly good game as well, moved pretty well for a bloke his size and took the mark of the night IMO.

Rapidshave kicked virtually our whole score, MJP was all class through the middle and Jae and Kane worked hard in defence.

I'll leave the votes up to Captain Sensible as he was working the interchanges.

I thought it was a good first up effort, particularly as we had several players on debut.

A couple of funny umpiring decisions (one of which went our way) had no real bearing on the result, and that villainous turncoat Raw Toast was instrumental in snuffing out our chances of a Round 1 win.

Plenty of improvement to come from us and we can look forward to a very solid hit-out against the Spurs.

Love the comeback from Blake Betheras when I called her 'Jordan Mcmahon' a couple of times. She put the score on the scoreboard and then handed it back to the hecklers.

Pulled up a bit sore, the right middle finger is twice the size it should be, battle wounds already.

That was my first game of semi-competitive football since U/15's so I was just happy not to make a fool out of myself.

Spurs are our next opponent so hopefully we can atone for our loss this week against them.

I watched the Spurs for some of the time I was on the bench on Monday night, they had a split of about 4 girls, 4 boys on the field. All could play reasonable footy.

Next Monday's game will be a tough encounter. Also please note that Jae is unavailable this week, and we are on the look out for one more girl to play this week.

She would prefer not to play though and if plays will have to be in the forward line the entire time due to her lack of fitness.

For three years we have been trying to find a player who actually has a girlfriend - and also has enough influence over her to convince her to play!
