Just a quick prediction - don't see too many other predictions. Don't get me wrong I have enormous respect for Monbulk and I am sure if they had been in Div 2 it would of been a Monbulk - Yarra Glen GF. Who would of won?? - we will never know - but what we will find out is that they place each twice in 2011 at least. From what I saw this year Monbulk has an aging list but now that you mention it is hard to see them missing finals two years in a row. Also I have not heard any player movements from Monbulk - have they gained or lost any?? Close comp coming up with several sides fighting for 4th and 5th spot!

Thanks for that finger but it was a little tongue in cheek from me. I have no doubts that Monbulk would have made a mess of 2nd division last year. So my point is tha for Ozzie to put Yarra Glen in front of them is a big call. From what i saw of last year Monbulk would account for Yarra Glen easily. However if the rumours are true and Yarra Glen pick up a few then that could change things.

Guys 1st Warning - Stick to the topic - Please refer to point 2 of what is not permitted.


Here are some questions to be answered that should get the topic back on track;

1. Names of the new Wandin players who have come from the EFL
2. Who have Mt Evelyn lost/picked up
3. Have Monbulk claimed any East Ringwood Players (they seem to have had some sort of exchange program going with them for the past 5 years)
4. Do they have internet on the other side of the mountians? Any News From Alex, T/E, Yea, Kinglake?
5. Have Juction Lost any or picked up any? I heard Daniel Ryan's name posted. Have they lost a few?
6. Belgrave - have they picked up anyone?
7. Any Movements between Powelly and Warby - Seems to happen every year - will the Warby recruits in Murphy and Ahmat attract half the Powelly team across or will some boys from Warby be off the other way?

Mine (for what it's worth in December) in alphabetical order
Top: Gembrook, Monbulk, Mount Evelyn, Upwey, Woori.
Bottom: Healesville, Olinda, Wandin, Warby, Yarra Glen.

So from this season the only change is Monbulk in and Olinda out. Monbulk are a very proud club and I can't see them missing 2 years in a row. Olinda to suffer the second year blues and the bit of inconsistency you'd expect from a young squad.
 
Good luck to YG up this year. Hopefully they can recruit and consolidate. To compare them to Mobulk though, shows a serious lack of footy nouse. Staggering...........
 
In terms of Wandin, the sign up rate appears strong

some from 1st Div EFL
some from 2nd Div EFL
some returning players who due to lack of juniors, wanted to keep going at that level elsewhere

No point giving up names right now, cause a lot can happen before Feb.

Lets just say the usual names should not feature in the best in 2011. I think all would agree, a strong Wandin side is better than a stroll past some witches hats
 
From what i hear junction haven't lost any players at all. Clarke to come back after injuring his knee at the start of 2010 season. chasing a few new players as well. Not sure how much truth to the daniel ryan rumour though.

does not want to play against woori because its his old club or is worried about playing against monky personally? me thinks the big fella will surely be retired by then. but then i suppose the same assumption could have been made 2 or 3 years ago.

I get the feeling that even if the big fella retired from playing and just coached, he would still make his presence felt:)

belgrave look like they have picked up a few players dont no names but scoresby , east ringwood , boronia , are were they are picking them up from

Ari - wouldnt be good if forum users identified themselves! I have been reading some dribble over the last few weeks and decided to register for the first time. There is certainly some good stuff on here and some absolute garbage. It does however make the work day a little more interesting whether posts are fact or fiction. I am happy to say that Yarra Glen have had a successful Pre Christmas Training Campaign - plenty of numbers including several new faces from different clubs. It has been great to see players come to the club because their mates have enticed them to have a look. I can not wait to the 2011 Season along with a highly motivated bunch of players who want to achieve in the higher division. YG have certainly been inspired by Olinda and their achievements in 2010. Personally I have no intention on playing - just like 2010 however if players require a rest I am happy to have a go and do my best. Thanks for the compliments Finger and MeDevil. I know I am clearly not in the best 21 but if it means a player is preserved for a following game then sure I will throw my body on the line for the better of the team. Have a great Christmas everyone and bring on 2011!
 
$50,000! WOW!!!! Would like more - it really isnt that much when you need to pay trainers - they run out expensive when you cover three teams and recovery on a Monday night. Great Investment (especially on the Monday Night) something you should try in 2011 - you may get a little closer in a Grand Final if you invest in this!

Well Bean, I have spoken to the Rhino and he has affirmed to myself that he is stayin at Woori
