Yep, for incidents like Gaffs red card, not like a soccer red card though where the player can't be replaced.

Spot on. Last week it seemed a good idea, but you know some idiot umpire will use it for something like this, and then it'll just get used for everything.

You bring the red card in with great intentions. No more king hits etc but the line becomes blurred more and more as we want other things red carded.
There will always be a line of what constitutes a red card and what doesn’t. Won’t matter where the line is set, you can already see debate over a potential red card from tonight’s incident.
Let’s say red cards existed and that didn’t warrant one, people would debate it did. That line keeps coming down and gets blurrier and blurrier. The system will never be perfect.

Fair enough, if you could guarantee they were the only ones, I’d include one or two others, I’d agree with it.

Mitch Brown (Stk) should absolutely not have been able to play out the game after taking Saad out. That was ugly and dangerous shit; hard to watch the slow motion footage of Saad’s head whiplashing against Brown’s shoulder like that. I have no problem with a scenerio such as where a couple of guys watch the reply, while the game continues, and then announce at the end of the quarter (for example) that Brown won’t play out the match.

If Brown's bump is worthy of a supposed red card then the game is in serious trouble.

Re-introduce the sub rule as an extra player on the bench as cover in the event one of the starting 22 getting rubbed out during the game.

I'm not totally sold on red cards but when I see something like that, where a player has clearly disposed of the ball, is now out of the play & has the right/expectation to not be blindsided and which results in him being is ruled out for the rest of the game thereby handing an advantage to the opposition, well I wouldn't be against it.

Another option I suppose is a concussion sub.

Tom stewart took out our best mid and plays the rest of the game while taking the game saving mark. I think theres a case for it.
