I'm currently in chapter 3 and using my horse to run over the citizens of Rhodes. I then loot their watches and wedding bands, etc, and sell them to the fence. Made a few thou so far doing this, and can't get wanted by the law in Rhodes during chapter 3, so it's a bit of fun.

I'm doing a play-through where I don't care about my honour level. It's very freeing.

By the way, if anyone has some 100% completion tips to make things easier, feel free to suggest them. I'm 50 hours in, but only on chapter 3 or 4. I kinda got a general overview of the requirements I think.... Tried chipping away at a few things like hunting perfect animal pelts, dinosaur bones etc, and it sounds like collecting 25 orchid flower things will be a pain?

I suggest using a guide for collectables like cards, dinosaur bones, etc fu** exploring everything and every where would take you months trying to collect everything.

I used to use the RDR2 app on my iPad while playing. It's basically a strategy guide with a LIVE map of your location.
Also has easy to follow ordered quest guide, with all the side quests, all the legendary animals, outfits, horses, guns, bones, cards, easter eggs, secret stashes etc. Everything you need.

I used it after clearing an area or a quest so I avoided spoilers, but I could still get everything.

Really whats the app called?

I liked the mission where it made it like you can finally use some stealth tactics then like five minutes in a scripted event made it turn in to the same as every other mission and just a big shootout.

If the story missions were any more scripted they'd be on rails.

Do you mean the mission with Charles where you rescue Eagle Flies?

I rember a lot of people complained at the lack of fast travel but wasn't really an issue for me. if i wanted to go some where far I would use the nearset train or coach to fast travel and then ride to the desitnation

I am very much anti fast travel. I love an open world game feeling large. If I need to do something in Saint Denis, I know it's going to take a while to get there, so I have to plan my route and what other activities. Makes the whole world feel much more engaging.

I like having say trains as options for "fast travel" as it's like realistic fast travel. You have to pay for it, and it's still a bit of a commitment.

Finally, I really liked how if you had a mission far away you had a bit of free travel with some chit chat and then it turns into a cut scene briefly highlighting your travels. A good balance!

Give me Red Dead Redemptions world with Fallout New Vegas freedom. You'd be looking at the perfect RPG 😍

first play through I didn't fast travel, and in this game you can only fast travel somewhere you have been before and have to invest a bit of time and money in unlocking the feature

where it's good though is when you have limited time to play, you can jump in do a few things instead of one thing

hmm maybe it was someone else, I could have sworn you were the one running around tying people to train tracks etc

I can't remember posting about it but I probably did. Now that you mention it I remember doing things like tying people up alive and throwing them into or dragging them through rivers and see if they live, throwing to wild life etc.

My favourite moment of my first playthrough was when I chased down a miscreant on horseback to rescue a woman, shot him out of his saddle and caught up with the horse at the edge of a river, took the tied-up woman off the back of the horse, got randomly bitten on the leg by some sort of little rat thing which made me drop the woman in the river who then straight away drowned, and then some random passer-by who had witnessed it all promptly shot me in the head, killing me instantly.

I'm sure stuff like that used to happen in the Old West all the time

I loved RDR2, almost got 100% completion.
I left the main story line for quite some time to go and find all the things. Treasure, gold bars, dinosaur bones, points of interest, all the legendary fish and animals, rock carvings, collectible cards etc
I remember there was one collectible that I missed, can't remember which one, but it had something to do with a father and son, and one had to live to trigger an item. I accidentally took them both out and missed on the item. Tried going back to an earlier save point to redo the mission, but it didn't "respawn" the family and son. Stuffed my perfect completion lol
I adored this game, literally spent hours on end not coming in contact with another character whilst fishing and hunting animals, and like others have said I enjoyed travelling from one part of the map to another.
My biggest gripe, again like has already been mentioned, was accidentally drawing a weapon on someone in town, then either having to shoot it out, or getting on a horse and high tailing it out of town.
I did enjoy the story progression, but I did intersperse it with all of my other own completion missions :)
I did get 100% completion on the first RDR back on the X360, spent waaaaaaay too many hours on that beast!
Looking forward to RDR3! Whenever that may be... sounding like it'll be on the next "next gen" consoles.

RDR3 could be a prequel to RDR2.

We get to play as a younger Dutch or Horsea and see how the gang formed the end of the game would be the robbery in Blackwater

I like it to be set after the events of RDR2, playing as Sadie Adler
