I'd heard 12 months ago that Qld were going to go hard to get him back

Pleased we've been able to keep him.

I know we'd rather it were home grown players making their mark but he seems absolute quality, right temperament. You need good people in the key spots if anything is going to develop here.

TBH the batting by the SACAs or the Redbacks or whatever they are.... was perfect.

Saving a match is what you SHOULD be doing when giving up a massive first innings lead. You don't have to win every match

Preparing a good pitch really is a tightrope

Any juice and teams get skittled. Try to make it a bit less bowler friendly and suddenly it's a highway

I don't envy their job, particularly because you always have the weather variable to contend with.

Was this before his 100? Inglis made 100 too. However, Carey's spot was never in actual danger after that NZ Test earlier in the year and then made some good runs against England in the ODIs. That recent Shield game just secured the spot beyond any doubt.
