I feel like Reef's opportunities at AFL level has been lacking. 20 games, and I wouldn't argue if you told me that half of them he was subbed on/off.
I get that he hasn't torn a game apart yet. But he's 21... he has needed time to develop, and he's also had injuries.
I think the return we'd get for him wouldn't be worth the trade. We've got McStay, Checkers, Cox, Jamie all 30+, their health has been suspect this year.
Get him training with SP10 this offseason and give Reef a fair shake at a permanent spot!

It's true. Luke Godden wasn't that good. Therefore we should keep Reef. Should have kept Will Kelly too using the same logic.

Right decision: if they play him in a new role.

Has the size and athleticism to be a 2nd or3rd defender imo… but will need time in the role

Wrong decision: if on 2025 he is still played in the VFL as a forward… one who is now behind Membrey as well in the pecking order

100% agree. Play defence all pre season and see how he goes - the James Clement role

Got my fingers crossed next year for Reef. Hopefully he can get a good run of games and show what he’s made of.

Very happy for Reef to get another year, the kid can play.

Won't pretend to know his best position in the side but he's a footballer with upside that should be realised with the Pies.

Whoever gets injured. Whoever drops off. And there have been a few.

I'm not a fan of Long. Don't think Mitchell will play much. Sidebottom I have worries about. Frampton and Dean have occasionally struggled. Sullivan is a solid reminder of Jarryd Blair.

Reef if fit is talented. Just look at his goals per minutes on the ground.

Hopefully comes back fitter than he has ever been. I'm very curious to see where he trains.
Wonder if we can make him a half back with stints in the midfeld. bit like crisp early days.

Good that he's signed on. I feel we will be trying him in defence. In which case I'm glad we passed on Tomlinson (assuming we have). Reef a similar type and better to give him a shot than bring in a 33yo.

I think so too. His last couple vfl games there was promising. I'll keep an eye out when training resumes in less than 2 weeks. While he wont have to be required there, you'd think those like Reef, who are playing for their career next year, will be there day 1.
