Mr Greene, this court finds you guilty of lightly bumping into a person on the street. I sentence you to life without parole.

Guy has no impulse control and will end up doing something stupid without question.

Fremantle has such bizarre trading history, totally opposite to us and highly idiosyncratic.

Like I get that they are pretty active they want to improve and they bring a lot of players home. Fine, that makes sense, as does the ridiculous amount of them that end up leaving Freo within a couple of years for another club - it's not something that happens to us, but I mean come on, it's Freo lol.

But what's really weird is how many 'boomerang' trades involve Freo. A made up term, that I'm rolling with, but essentially either Freo --> Random club --> Freo OR Random Club --> Freo --> back to same Random Club.

I'm probably missing some but:

- Tarrant
- Josh Carr
- Heath Black
- Trent Croad
- Adam McPhee
- Peter Bell

And now probably Lobb and Neale down the road. Do we even have one such trade?

Fremantle are the coriander of football clubs, some players seem to love it others hate it and it doesn't make any sense why.

How many weeks has Greene had in total suspensions, tried to look it up. Might be close to getting tipped out.

"Any player who accumulates a total of 16 weeks or more of suspensions over the course of his career will be automatically deregistered from the AFL, and barred from any further participation."

"Any previous suspensions within the AFL are carried over at 75% of their original length (e.g. a previous suspension of four weeks will only count as three weeks under this policy)"

Puts him at 10.5 by that. Wouldn't want another 6 weeker, as current suspensions aren't reduced if it goes over 16 (according to Wikipedia which is always right :p)

Turns out I should have just read the contract thread first as I'm like the 10th person to point this out.

That's like 20 minutes+ of my life looking through Freo's trade history on Wikipedia that I'll never get back. 😵

Also Freo has a Wikipedia entry for their trading history lol.

Amazing all you can achieve when you're not busy watching Premiership highlights. 😉

Be rude not to. GWS would be robbing Peter to pay Paul, though.

More than that as Sam Taylor is already a better player than Lobb.

It won't happen because GWS would rate Taylor as a cornerstone to their future.

If however, in the land of make believe, The Crumbles were able to fob Lobb off and get Taylor in return, then that would be an absolute mater stroke, that would indeed earn Bell a feather in his cap.

"It sounds like he was at church giving confession, he was so honest. It was incredible." Rory Lobb’s manager Colin Young has fired back at Peter Bell as the bizarre trade wrangle intensifies, saying the Freo football boss revealed too much to the media. https://bit.ly/3j1zOof

Yeah player managers much prefer to drip feed journos “off the record” to push their agenda without accountability.

Swans getting shitty about the pre season draft threat from crows yet they got 750k a year tippet from the crows in the PSD . I know the crows had some dicky clauses in his contract but seems like a bit of what goes around comes around to me with the extra payments wouldn't have been more than the cola they swans had

Exactly.

Young basically sets up the whole thing behind the scenes, except for the trade - hands that over to the clubs. He the publicly says that Lobb wants to leave freo for gws.

Then gets crabby when one of the clubs says the offer isn't really in the ballpark so the player will stay..

It seems like he was the one revealing too much with his comments, rather than Bell in this instance.

Peter Bell happy to get out and tell all and sundry how Freo are winning trade week.

He’s on ABC this morning and I reckon he’s been on Sportsday WA, Sportsday Vic and Trade Radio at a minimum this week according to assorted social media posts.

Talking up all the feathers in his cap I suppose…

Fremantle under perform each year

Watch talent walk out the door each year

Win trade week, collect feathers

Rinse and repeat

Wow. First they manage to claim a derby victory for the first time in a million years, then they manage to trade in some ok players + good picks in trade week while simultaneously losing required personnel.

So much winning. Wish I supported Freo with all that winning culture going on over there. Guess I'll just have to settle for premierships instead.

Fock me - didn’t realise AFL was about Trade Week.

I need to re-focus.
