I was using the reference of the Sentinelese people as a reference that racism is actually naturally prevalent within the human species in the most base level of the brain. The more exposure to society, the higher the level of intelligence and teaching from a young age greatly reduces that in almost all cases. I am however saying that Racism is a natural response and will not be stopped by humanity by any means other than annihilation within hundreds of years.

Then you have people of the same races killing each other all over the world purely because they can't agree which of their imaginary friends is the real one/ones.

Football clubs putting out statements like this is just ****ing bullshit pandering to social constructs because they don't want to be seen or made a pariah of.

In the case of my grandmother she knows that it's not the right thing to say but she doesn't have the base capacity to learn or remember the differences so says what she thinks is the least offensive. However if it was said on social media people would still get offended.

My point mate is that no matter what you do, you can't eradicate racism within ours or even our great, great grandchildrens lifetimes in a single highly civilized country and society so anyone expecting these things not to pop up on social media or thinking that media statements from clubs make one iota of difference is as close to delusion as the people making these racist statements. The reality is what is considered a racist statement by races themselves has changed via social constructs in the last 20 years. When a racial group itself can't even decide what is a derision based upon their race then what hope do you think anybody or any societal group or government can eliminate it?

People simply choose to get offended. The most basic definition of racism is treating someone differently based upon their racial origin. Now as a societal construct even on this most basic of levels you aren't going to eliminate it and any of these faux, look we're not racist virtue signalling attempts, whether it be by football clubs, politicians or others is nigh on pointless.

I agree if it's possible to name and shame. When it's an anonymous social media troll then amplifying through club statements just gives them the attention they crave. Better to ignore unless/until you can action some real-world consequences against them IMO.

It's part of the new world we live in where the internet and social media is everywhere - it allows:

• Propaganda and fake news to proliferate, because it's easy to find an echo chamber for any point of view no matter how illogical or extremist - whether it's Hillary Clinton running a child trafficking ring from a pizza shop, or COVID vaccines causing sterility
• Trolling for fun, because you don't have to attach your real name and picture to it and you can avoid social repercussions from racist and sexist abuse
• Scammers and fraudsters to operate easily, because you can mass send out texts and emails for a fraction of a fraction of a cent, or pump up the tires on some meme coin before dumping it for easy money

More than ever, critical thinking must be taught in schools - but sadly that's not happening any more because Tik Tok and NewsCorp etc has caused people to only pay attention to funny or sexual things finished in 15 seconds or less.

Every day in our media I see articles where racism or sexism has happened. As wrong as it is, there's always going to be a minority, and because of what you say, we can never stop it. We can however stop them having a voice.

I wonder if the solution is to stop reporting it? The left always have this unrealistic expectation that we can have a society with no racism, no sexism, no wars etc, and they think by calling it out the will convert people. Maybe it's better to not report it - because the general consensus of the majority is these things are wrong.

There's always going to be a percentage of society that are racist. That will never change. And with social media, it's hard to supress it. We need to learn how to live with it.

I consider myself open minded, non racist, and into equality. But now lots of things I see have same sex stuff in it. It doesn't and will never change my view, but it is starting to piss me off that some many companies are virtue signalling. They're basically shoving "homophobia is wrong" message down everyone's throat when most people aren't homophobes.
