Whateley and Lyon suggesting Perth should be front runner for the entire finals series if the MCG isn't approved for over 60k fans 😳

I mean, if ever there was a time to pinch it from outside the top 4...

Id actually back us if that was the case. There has been a lot of disruption for the top 6 teams compared to WC.

Get Willie into shape + Shuey over his soft tissue and stay mentally focused....

lol

In saying that if we won i can see people saying we won it only because we played the GF at home or some rubbish like that.

Simmo's been ahead of the game all along

Firstly no tackling just corralling... and now every 2nd tackle is called dangerous

Then make us look like a complete rabble to silence any Vic objections to the finals being in Perth

Richmond 10 games in a row at the MCG including GF: "Greatest team ever! So brave!" nomonomomomomomooommomomommm

West Coast doing the same: "*! Royal commission! Hand back the cup!"

After getting beaten by North, I'd like to see us put a decent body of work together before even thinking about the GF.

This week's game isn't a given either just quietly.
Let's face it, we only beat Adelaide who had lost 10 of their last 12.

Would absolutely love them to say that if we won it.

Don't spoil our fun.

“In 2016 when I left to go to West Coast, Clarko said ‘it will be great for him, he’s got coaching aspirations to get some experience at a new club’ then he rang me halfway through 2018 and said ‘it would be great for you to come back it would be ideal if you took over from me at some stage, no promises, but it would be a great situation for us so let’s try and work towards that’.

Remember around that time there were rumours of him and another ex Eagles ex wife.

That part seems more reasonable for him leaving than those rumours lol

Always thought those rumours where rubbish

What interests me more about the part you bolded is whether that phone call from Clarkson came before or after Mitchell had told the Eagles he wanted to return to Victoria “for family reasons”

He was only in the second year of a four year contract and my memory is that it had surprised/disappointed the club for obvious reasons but they chose not to hold him to his contract because they accepted his reasons to go home due to his family.

If he’s gone because Clarkson approached him mid-contract with us as part of a long term succession plan then it paints his departure in a completely different light

Club could rightly sue for damages. TBH i think a club like Collingwood, Hawthorn or Richmond would. Coach lied citing family reasons to get out of a contract. The afl would have a ****ing meltdown about it. The afl is so corrupt you could do all the prep work for it, sit down with AFLHQ and negotiate benefits for not going down that path.

It would be a civil case too and im pretty sure he's been directly quoted saying the family reasons in 2018 and now has directly contradicted that so theres no burden of beyond reasonable doubt, just who is more right. Would be an absolute walkover.

You’d have to prove Clarkson contacted him about it before he told the club he wanted to be released from his contract. Given that his departure was announced mid season it’d be pretty difficult to prove that Clarkson didn’t call him until after it was known he was leaving

And for all I know that may well be true, but there was a whiff of something not being quite right at the time all the same

Would be kinda weird for Clarko to push for Mitchell to come break his WC contract and come back to Hawthorn when wasn't it his idea for Sam to come to us in the first place? Surely it would have been Mitchell saying he wants to go back to Vic and then Clarko hears word of it and gives him a call about coming back to Hawthorn.

I mean Richmond & Hawthorn come to mind from recent years

How does Tobey Greene always manage to look like a smug git in every photo he's in? Such a punchable face on that bloke.
Wish we had him.
Also wish we had him.

Still doesn't change the fact that he's got the most punchable face in the AFL though.
Probably has had the punchable face award locked in since Ballantyne retired. Now that was a punchable face.

Wasn't he shagging Embley's Mrs and Mitchell's wife gave him the ultimatum to go back to Melbourne? That was the rumour anyway.
