Everyone knows, and almost everyone agrees with, the adage: Watching footy at the ground is awesome, but it sucks on TV.
So here is my question for the masses - suppose you were in charge of producing the AFL broadcast for the network of your choice, how would you do it? Where would you place the cameras to best approximate the "at-the-ground" feel? You have complete control and a near-unlimited budget to get your vision up and running. Your target consumer is watching a hi-def, 2D tv.
Want a hi-def skycam at every ground? Done.
What about floating robot helicopters sitting one metre behind each player? Well, let's try and keep it to realistic.
