Rex Chadwick voted onto RFC board

Richmond Football Club announced today that Rex Chadwick has been added to the Club Board of Directors.

Chadwick will be officially announced to the Board at the Club's Annual General Meeting tomorrow (Wednesday December 16).

Richmond President Gary March today welcomed Chadwick to Board.

“Rex is a successful Victorian businessman, he is passionate about the Richmond Football Club and my fellow Directors and I very much look forward to working with him,” March said.
March paid tribute to outgoing board member Anthony Mithen.
“Anthony Mithen was first appointed to the Richmond board in April 2004 and has made a significant contribution to the development of our club particularly in regards to the fundraising and commercial operations aspect of the business,” March said.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Anthony for his years of service and wish him and his family all the very best for the future,” March said.



Congratulations Rex, you will be a most important contributer to the RFC.

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. No expertise that the board doesn't already have, which is something Mithen brought to the table.

Correct. Mithen offered SFA to the board and was asked to step down by the Pres.

He didn't and was voted out anyway. IMHO he liked the look of "RFC board member" on his CV more than he was really able to contribute.

FWIW Rex is years younger than 70 and has a brilliant background in sales and marketing. That is one of the reasons he was persuaded to stand, and replace Mithen.

I can assure you all there is nobody more passsionate about Richmond than Rex and he has more professional integrity than anyone that I've met.

It may be hard for most supporters to appreciate an appointment to a person without profile, but you should all take comfort that the board and the club have made a great move.
