Rhys Palmer Just Missed From 10m Out!!!

OK, so according to Champion Data he is the Clanger King. You will notice that the data wasn't published in the article, so in theory he could be the clanger king by 1 point. He's just an easy target at the moment.

Let's have a look at the entire statistics, if we are going to go down the path of taking cheap shots at 2nd year players. Let's not pick out the clangers. If 10% of Palmer's kicks are clangers, then 90% aren't. I don't have the Champion Data Player Rankings, but I'd be surprised if Palmer wasn't well above average in the kicking rankings based on this ranking system.

Palmer's 2009 statistics have him at a disposal efficiency of 71-72%.

Not sure what his 2008 numbers are but the general consensus is that his disposal has improved in 2009.

It obviously depends on the situation but it can be argued that often a clanger hurts the team alot as it turns the ball over against the flow of play and sets up an opposition attack on goal.

Palmer is a gun youngster no doubt, however his disposal, especially his kicking, is quite simply shit.

I doubt any of our players would miss from 10m out.

Also none of our players are rated as the #1 Clanger King of recent times.

I dare say most of our mids (with the exception of Priddis ) would have a better disposal efficiency than Palmer.

I distinctly remember Cox missed from 10 metres out against Carlton last year. And Lynch has done it a number of times in his career....

Lynch - makes up for it with the 60m bombs.

I like Palmer. Plays hard and has had to shoulder the responsibility of being the #1 midfielder pretty much from his first year.

However he won't be a superstar until he can kick the footy.. and right now he can't kick the footy.

There's probably a minimum number of disposals requirement to be eligible for the list. None of your guys would have reached the minimum required.

Yeh Palmers diposal efficency is 11 points better than Mastens.

Fletcher's isn't terrible at being 70.

I guess stats can be very subjective....

Yes, LeCras is a good kick. He is also a forward specialist, expected to kick goals. I was merely pointing out that anyone can shank one.
