These are not bandwagon fans

They jumped on a team in an area that hates afl, and cheered their boys for years knowing they had no chance of winning

That's a good point. I know two Victorian transplants living in Western Sydney and Canberra. Both are onboard as foundation club members from day 1, while holding a fading allegiance to their original clubs (Carlton & Collingwood) because of the local presence and work in the community.
