AFLW Richmond vs Port Adelaide - Round 5 @ Ikon Park

Another tough one. Our first 5 opponents are currently 1st, 16th, 6th, 3rd and 4th on the ladder - with our game against 16th a commanding win. Shaping up to be a bit of a tough draw like last year, would be nice to play a few more teams in our weight division as that can make a very big difference in AFLW given how lopsided the competition is.

We should beat Collingwood.

They just lost by 42 points to the Bulldogs who we beat by 40, and it’s at Alberton too.

PORT Adelaide will unveil its final 2023 draftee for its mid-week clash with Richmond on Tuesday.

Defender Alissa Brook has been named to make her debut, coming into the side for ruck Olivia Levicki.

Jesus Christ we make things so much harder with the number of elementary mistakes we make. So frustrating to watch at times.

This seems a bit tough for a team that's won three games in two seasons. You'd think there would be a better way of equalising the competition.

It does open up later on but by then the team's confidence will likely be shot to pieces.

I don't understand why the AFLW isn't broken into 2 divisions personally. I've been saying it for ages, and I know many disagree, but the season is absolutely pointless for more than half the comp. The draft means little. The number of games makes the comp incredibly unbalanced, the talent is incredibly unbalanced due to the rapid expansion and limited junior structure, etc.

For mine, make 2 divs. 8 games. Top 4 in div 1 play off for a GF. Bottom 2 of div 1 get demoted. Have a 2nd v 3rd playoff in div 2, to get promoted with 1st.

Creates more interest, more balance, etc.

I feel like this is probably the most disappointing season from the girls. Really feels like we're devoid of any improvement in the middle. Our key pillars up forward have regressed and Teakle seems the number 1. Lots of youth is the saving grace, but losing Tahau and Ewing's, then losing Young has been huge blows.
