When Richmond were shit for a biblical period of time, we mostly coped by not taking ourselves too seriously, or faux seriously. I don't think old Sav is capable of doing that.

Although we did tend to take it out on our coaches and we all enjoyed spitting at them.
Also, the Richmond members area back in the day was one of the most dangerous places to be if you were a Richmond supporter. We got pretty unhinged at times. Particularly during some of those massive floggings we copped week in/week out. Year in/year out. F*ck decade in/decade out.

I rememberer back in the days of the Flogcast, Wosh saying how sweet and cute it was how Richmond supporters were so extremely violent towards each other. I myself used to say that no one hates Richmond supporters more than Richmond supporters.

If we go through another significant period in the wilderness, you'll all have that to look forward to. But at least (keeping with the biblical references) it'll sort the sheep from the goats.

Ahhh, now I get your difficulty with adapting to the Bay, you don't get sarcasm, irony or self depreciation.
These are all important in understanding Australian humour. You're obviously a new Australian. Welcome brother. Who convinced you to barrack (an Ausie word for support) for Collingwood.
I'm guessing a friend took you along to your first AFL game and Collingwood won. Classic story
Just a tip. A lot of footy arguments are tongue in cheek. We call it banter. The one who loses their shit first, loses the argument. That's why you'll see so many posters who are obviously being absolutely owned, accuse the victor of melting, in a vain hope of being credited victory by those observing the banter.

I had a life long friend called Weed (Deano) who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from cancer last year, he was mad, life long Tiger Fanatic, and I feel honestly forever grateful he got to enjoy and experience the joy and euphoria of the Tigers recent 3 flags before he passes away (hw had no family or kids)

I miss Dean and think about him everyday still. He would be absolutely fuming/throwing furniture around at the current state of the Tiges lol

Eagles longest stint of no finals is 3 years. That was 2008-10.

Eagles finished 9th in 2021, fell Into a heap in 2022 with 2 wins and 20 losses from 22 games.

Eagles either will have 1 or 2 or 3 wins this season.

They have to make finals next season in 2024 to avoid an unwanted record in their history

I just tend to agree with the Battered Sav these days because he's a sensitive type and very easily upset, which I have pointed out to him on many occasions, as he bitterly acknowledges a couple of posts up.

I'm back in Melbourne now. Having left Richmond in early 95 and lived in QLD, NT, ACT, SA and NSW, feeling home sick for much of that time, I'm absolutely rapt to be back in inner Melbourne. This time in the heart of Fitzroy. My wife and daughters, who have never lived here, love it too. And I get to go to the G for most home games
Picked a good year to return hey?
Never mind. We'll be up and about next year and this thread will be redundant.
