What the ****. So mid game the coaches have instilled in him a lack of confidence and forced him to regress. Get a grip.
 
He hack kicked a heap tonight if anything he got better as the game went on efficiency wise. Thought he looked like a 12 year old out there early when not adapting to the speed. Had a real nice late first and second quarter. Still a heap of meter eater kicks but that's the game plan sadly.
 
Really good debut. What I like most is his confidence - he wants the footy in his hands and he wants the responsibility of taking the game on and hitting targets by foot. Will be a player.

First time I saw him tonight I was like 'WTF why is tanned Chad Wingard playing off half-back?? Damn you Hink...oh'

Pretty good first game. Looking forward to seeing more of him after another pre-season!

Definitely a mixture of kicks, good, bad, go the bomb.
Read the play really well I thought.

From an opposition POV, consider this subbed to track his progress.

Riley barracked for Essendon but his father snagged a PA membership for him because of Jasper Pittard.

Hopefully he takes Jasper's spot on the future.

If he keeps progressing, he might end up taking Broadbents spot one day.
 
A lot to like about Bonner. Solid first game. Needs a Pittard transformation in the gym to build up some size (though not as skinny starting point) and he'll blossom.

to put it simply he ticked all the boxes for a first gamer, should develop into a polec type player, and speaking of polec he drilled 2 great 50m passes into the forward line that were centimetre perfect and i was thinking how good would that have been all year
 
Looked the goods from day one. Would've liked him to come in a bit earlier. But now he's here, I hope he stays. Off the wing, half-back, bench, whatever. Just play him...
