Since Duncan Armstrong won the 200m in 1988, only 3 Aussie men had won individual swimming events at the Olympics

Perkins 1,500m 1992 and 1996
Hackett 1,500m 2000 and 2004
Thorpe 400m 2000 and 2004 and 200m 2004

At 20 years of age Mack Horton ( or Mack the Knife) sets himself up to be a legend of Aussie male swimming.

No doubt. But recent tradition has seen most Gold Medal winners then invite the other 2 to share the top podium for the photo.
