Q1: 1 disp, 0 marks, 2 tackles (1/0/2 total)
Q2: 1 disp, 0 marks, 3 tackles (2/0/5 total)
Q3: 6 disp, 2 marks, 2 tackles (8/2/7 total)
Q4: 6 disp, 1 mark, 0 tackles (14/3/7 total)
Reads like a switch to the midfield in the second half, where he's much better suited.

Spot on. I would not risk Harry against Richmond either, I am still annoyed the MC chose to risk him against the Saints.
Richmond have won 3 out of the last 4 flags, so we rightfully go into this game as underdogs.

Even if McKay plays, I give us (at best) 40/100 chance of winning.

Giving that around 95 % of the crowd will be Toothless Tiger ferals, it will take a miracle of 1999 Preliminary Final proportions forums to win.

I do worry that we are not as good as we (or at least the media) thinks we are.
That’s better than max Barry at squiggle. Who gives us 31% chance.

I suppose at least the rest of our team sheet will be our best possible. Looking back at Richmond and when they made the jump. Their forward line was filled with part timers and players that can’t kick but pressure. Let’s hope having a forward line of Casboult crashing packs and Betts, JSOS, Fogarty, Martin and Fisher tackling and chasing will be our future.
And Jack R who had kicked a 100 in a season .. Levi has never kicked 40 .. with betts in that forward line we will turn back the clock to when fev when crazy at crown and we were sending it to Eddie to jump on heads 🤦🏻‍♂️ Didn't end pretty ..

What’s Gov got to do with crowd capacity.

Me thinks you quoted the wrong post.

He takes up half the seating capacity .... I dunno ....

Dow is a certainty too play with Williams exclusion off the back of the pre season games and comments from the captain. Super happy too see someone’s told him to pop the ball up out in front to advantage when delivering rather than trying to drill with precision, so far so good.

If Newnes is fit he’ll play ahead of LOB who’s growing but defensive effort in goal square even though it’s not his caper will work against him.

Not quite sure what to make of Fogarty just yet but must admit not super impressed, agree with others Betts will play personally have Cunners over Gibbo but both will keep each other honest.

The line up considering injuries

Willmson Jones Docherty
Saad Weitering SPS
Walsh Cripps Newnes
Murphy Kennedy Cunningham
Fogarty JSOS Fisher

R Pittonet Setterfield Martin
IC Curnow, Dow, Mcdonald Stocker

Just cannot see Plowman not playing, he will go to Dusty when he is forward.

Also cannot see Fisher missing either.

No way both Stocker & Kennedy play, doubt we will see either.

First time I’ve had the opportunity to watch the Saints replay, our tackling is still bad putrid at times, both individually and as a team, still so many players lacking with the right intensity and more importantly the right techniques is frustrating, it still is a huge area of need in improving on, still being one of our major flaws something we’re still miles off being able individually and systematically of applying it correctly... Hire a Storm tackling coach or someone who knows the craft....

Just a reminder about how far we’ve come:

round 1 2018:
Simpson Jones marchbank
Thomas Byrne Plowman
Mullet Cripps Murphy
Kreuzer Kennedy SPS
Fisher Casboult Curnow
Wright Curnow Lamb

Dow Silvagni Garlett Weitering

This team was in front with 11 minutes to go.

11 players in this side won’t be playing In round 1. Replaced with:

Mckay
Walsh
Cuningham
Saad
Pittonet
Newnes
Docherty
Setterfield
Martin
Fogarty
Betts

Mckay will play and he will be good to go. Our structures will be sound. Levi, jsos and mckay with some fierce tackling smalls is a good forward line.
We can definitely beat the tiggies, but silly unforced errors and missed opportunities at goal are what could determine the result. We need to believe!

I too watched the replay again today. We are so far off being a good side. I agree that our tackling is putrid, so soft, we were brushed off so many times. The kicking skills are still a major concern, just kick and hope. LOB was a standout for actually kicking the ball properly. Our kicking lacks penetration and is too up and under. What do they practice? I just shook my head with some of the inept efforts. We are treacle slow as well. Our players just jog along and let opponents run off them with no pressure. Dow and Murphy prime offenders. I understand it was community cup but I would have thought it was a good opportunity to show what can be done. Sadly it highlighted what has to be done. Honestly, I cannot see us getting anywhere near Richmond. It could get ugly. I want to believe but....

DC needs to be the direct replacement for Z.Williams & should be his deputy during the season rotating on-ball when resting.

Agreed, the thing that gets me though is the method of delivery into F50, feel like I'm going to have an aneurysm if I keep seeing it, I can't for the life of me understand why it keeps happening, kills us over and over again.

Fully expect to see it at least a couple of times next Thursday, we'll surge forward with some skillful play, do a bumbling F50 entry, Richmond will intercept mark and quick as a breeze it will be coming back our way, our midfielders will get caught off guard, easy entry into ours.

Our defenders have to try in vain to beat back the Richmond surge, easy goal for them. The angry Carlton supporter mob will be out for the heads of the Plow and SPS, rinse and repeat.

We fix tackling and F50 entry and get a good run of injuries, look out AFL campaigners. ;)

Big raps on him but consistently preforming is the knock with good reason. TBH I’m not expecting him to superstar, but these are the guys to take us forward

A team can be average at tackling if they are above average at retaining possession.

Practice match. I also saw a ball kicked just over, but within reach of a Mark going back with Walsh. Did he go for it? No he pulled out because .... practice match and not to do stupid things.

You paint a very glum picture of what wasn’t reality at all.
Jonathon Brown ore game had saints finishing top 4 and blues just outside of 8. Yet, even with our injuries came within a goal late in last quarter. So we are that bad ?
You should re watch that game with neutral football eyes and find positives with the things they did do well. Did the saints fatigue? I’m not sure but it was nice to see blues fatigue (or as I saw it) less than opponents rather the other way around for once, enter AR.

I agree the odds of winning against the opponents who are the reigning premiers including our injuries are low but I’m hoping for a cracking game and anything can happen. Go Blues.

I for one want to be able to say (player x is best 23, regarding new concussion 12 day rule and the potential concussion sub on bench.)

So I’ll start off
O’Brien, yep, he’s best 23 for sure. 😛
