Will be interesting to see how the coaches go about the sub.

Do they reward Carroll for last week, or do they go the extra small fwd.

As much as I think Carroll should be rewarded and given the opportunity to show consistency and if he is AFL grade, I have a feeling he might be sub again and Kennedy takes Dochertys spot.

SUB: Carroll

I've previously stated I'm not a fan of Cripps, Hewitt and Kennedy in the midfield at the same time, two one dimensional, so here's hoping I'm wrong and Carroll starts since he provides something different in there.

A conservative approach to rushing back players from injury. I like it, its a long season and last weeks win was a bonus. Tiggers rushing players back cos Yze needs a win, many of theirs will be underdone. He's under the pump, we are not. Think we get this done, Lynch on limited time should help our back half and Curnow Mckay are learning connection. Williams will be better with a game under his belt, Hollands had a not great game last week, but shit, every one gets held even in great wins. Expecting a win, would be nice for a 25 points plus win

Does anyone know if the vfl teams are playing at Punt road from late afternoon as normally happens ?
The club don't answer their phones
Apparently the VFL game will be live streamed on the Richmond Football Club website.

No idea if it'll also be streamed on ours - our club/website is absolutely shithouse when it comes to reporting on VFL - but if anyone's keen on watching it, I suggest putting on a hazmat suit and heading over to the RFC website.

If we are as good as we believe, then we have to be able to put teams like the Tigers away
And we are a good team this year

Let's go!!!

Baggers by 32 points :D
if you sit on teh fence long enough you end up with a post where it really doesn't belong - I really dont get the 'we' statements people like to make - every game presents different challenges because different teams play differently- anyone who thinks Richmond are hopeless and should be easily beaten doesn't watch football much. I have enormous respect for a lot of their players and I think they showed that they (like Carlton) are able to mount a comeback once they have settled and figured out teh opposition...

last year's finish means nothing this year - absolutely nothing - they are lost to SUns who usually start red hot up there in GC - says nothing about how they are going to play at home at teh G - nothing.

the disrespect for other teams on here is childish to me - it sets up an entitled expectation - if not fulfilled by a win means nothing and if a loss - paves the way for the usual bleating and nuffery - as witnessed by the stoopid commentary in the previous match day thread...

we can all do better with our posts.

Agree all hard at it but not quick out of the blocks that`s for sure. Everyone seems to think this game will be easy but I think it`s a dodgy one, mainly because they love beating us and I am also worried about the team possibly having a let down after breaking their Gabba who do?!! If Lynch fires up I cannot see Young or Kemp stopping him, and they do have a much better side in this week even though I think we are better. I believe Carroll should at least get a gig as interchange not sub, as he showed quite a lot last week and the ball appeared to follow him around at times. Hope the kid keeps it up as he looked good in a pressure cooker situation against the Lions. On a lighter note...."Club Legend", don`t know about that?!! Club "Old Bastard" perhaps.....

and Ive previously stated that people who continue to mount the fact less meme of Cripps/Hewett and Kennedy are all one dimensional - are boring, wrong and ill-considered.

these three plodders are exactly the types that win you games because they win the one on one contests against the very best players the opposition has to throw - at the contest - they grind their opponents into tehj ground and each offers very different things in different parts of the ground-= all those wanting to see youmhg runt Olliw Hollands in CBB bounces got to see that experiment against the bigger bodiedd Brisbane mids- he was absolutely destroyed...

I think Voss has a much better clue about team balance than anyone who posts on here- by a fair margin - I also think Voss is ruthless in dropping blokes who don't perform as expected - makes me happy.

Easy tiger! "entitled expectation" - c'mon!

It's purely just confidence.
We did just come back from the hardest assignment in the AFL, i.e. beating the Lions in Brisbane
We now have fielded with one change to the team, why shouldn't I be confident in my team and share that thought - on a thread on a CFC forum!

Of course, things don't always go to plan - but, there's nothing wrong with being confidence about our chances of winning this week - sheeeeesh!!!

your IF Then opening premise tickled my nerve ending - I have one.
The first few games of every session are always each way bets...

you had your fingers crossed the whole post, ffs..........
No I was cuddling my pet cat Leo because I had to put him away for a few days as was busy at the annual SFLC comps in Manly over the weekend and he gets upset when he has to go to a cattery.

As someone else previously said, biggest issue with Lynch being in the team is him injuring one of our players.

I believe he's coming in underdone and he's a dirty player at the best of times. Just hoping out backline comes out unscathed from him

You are more than entitled to your opinion, we just see things a little different

I don't think they are plodders and I never wanted ollie hollands at Centre Bounces because he is an out and out winger for one, and two his lower body and core strength isn't built to attend them

Hewitt, cripps and Kennedy are all starters in their own right but I think that having all three of them in there at the same time catches us out defensively. I'd be confident in saying that's why Docherty was moved into the midfield and why Kennedy has been moved to half forward

To use your example of them grinding other players into the ground, no disagreement there, they are hard at it big bodied mids, but if the ball makes it out the CB by one of their opposing players we get cut wide open defensively

All three have their strengths, for me Cripps and Hewitt are the first ones pencilled in, Kennedy is an added benefit and I actually like him in the SUB role.

Just my prospective with no insult to any players mentioned
