I agree, Hansen needs to be the one to go. Our forward line is panicked and has no idea. That last delivery to Motlop was sooo bad, because Mots was the only one in the forward line and had 3 Melb defenders hemming him in. It was totally rushed and we should have waited for someone to get free in the front of the 50. Instead we rush it to a 3 on one. Talk about pressure on Motts.

well at least we've found two players...Kemp and Cinc both been good. something to be happy about.

You can see the effort but the skill level is poor. Stick tackles, hit targets.
Probably as many as 6 passengers (we know who they are) leaving too much work for others.
A quality system lifts the “others” and limits the need for heroes.
What is our system/brand?
What does Carlton footy look like? When we were up and about it was strong at the contest and muscle it forward with consistent pressure. We did it for about 8 minutes…
Shame a footy game is a bit longer than that.
I’m going to bed, hopeful to wake up to a spirited revival.

Our skills have been an issue all year. They’ve been an issue since the early 2000s.

None of this is new or surprising.

The Pies turned it around because they have sublime ball users. We do not.

They are incredibly drilled, they practice scenarios and they know how and where teammates will be running to.

They kick to the space where the player will be and trust that they'll be there.

We take possession, stop, try to see if anyone is moving, stop, wait, kick it long and high.

Skills are better but the big difference is confidence in themselves and in teammates

Our lack of spread or want to work to present options doesn’t work with our game plan, even if the plan is trash. You can’t have a short kicking game or surge handball forward if you can’t run to create options. We are too stagnate

We're progressively losing the possession battle, and we're not working hard enough to turn our opportunities in possession into an easier chain. The extra work from all the mistakes pile up and we look gassed.

We're at least forcing Melbourne into the same thing, but we've just go no real plan to intelligently defend the play so we can have some level of output once we get it back.

Kennedy says we need to move the ball quicker and get our runners into it - at half time.

So does that mean Voss isn’t enforcing this static game and the players are really just this incapable of overlap run? f me.

He's ticking off the squad selection, and he's ticking off rough positional setups and how we move the ball through. Most importantly, he's in charge of ticking of how we seek to kick to position, which is blind and to a spot that creates a pack, rather than a spot that elicits certain kinds of leads that upset the opposition zone and at least form a pack.

Beyond that, we look so indecisive about when - and how - to attack the contest. This screams of poor communication skills.

Then there's whoever is overriding the fitness staff when almost the entire 22 is clearly exhausted and walking wounded.
