Assuming they are all ok to go
In: Simpson, McGovern, Daisy, Murphy (that should sort out our age, games etc profile to some degree)
Out: Fasolo, Kennedy, Lang (all omitted) and rest one of Dow, Walsh, SPS, (Dow in my opinion) and I mean rest as in not play at all this weekend and providing they have the ability to do it keep rotating some of the young blokes out regularly for a rest.

So basically we could have Murphy, Thomas, Simpson and McGovern return this week.

Apart from Jones and Docherty, we're at full strength.

Will be interesting to see what sort of a response we get after an eventful week.

Be interesting what the new coach does. Say Murphy is back, do we all of a sudden see a centre square of Kruezer, Cripps, Murphy and Ed for the first time this year? Bolton deliberately left Murphy & Ed out of the centre to hasten the likes of Dow, Setters, Fish etc. Does the new coach say, **** that, lets go for a win and put players where they are best suited for the now and not 2 or 3 years time?

Who gets dropped? be interesting
Lang firstly. A good VFL player at best. Simmo in , hopefully Jones . Daisy interesting? Probably will but if not his card has been signed.
Kennedy out too and for good I'm afraid. Just sooooooo slow and he aint no Sam Mitchell . And while I am at it cut Fasolo too. One 3 minute effort was all he could conjure. He is no good.
Fish deserves to be dropped he has been putrid for a few now. One last chance little fella I reckon.
How did the mid season draft Kid look in the VFL? (forgotten his name)
Good luck boys and Teague, have a crack and we will be happy.

Deluca is injured I believe, still a week or two away.

I want to see some adjustments and freshened up this week

B: Thomas Casboult Weitering
HB: SPS Jones Simpson

Foll: Kruezer Curnow Walsh
C: Charlie Cripps Lang

HF: Stocker McKay Cuningham
F: Murphy Kerr McGovern

Int: Newman Setterfield Gibbons Fisher

Go One on One
Curnow on Neale
Lang on Zorko
Stocker around HF as a creative tough player
Kerr in
Murphy if fit if not Garlett
Charlie up the ground

Jack Plowman Fasolo Kennedy Dow out
I'm with you on this one soapy.

Won't hurt for Dow to go back for a few games to build up his confidence.

Like Kerr at full forward to reward performances as well.

McGovern not sure as I reckon they should bringing him through VFL to build up form, fitness and consistency

They are a fair side the Lions and have jumped this year in their development. Hopefully the shakeup motivates a few to play some hard footy. I wonder if we'll structure differently and do things like tag and keep our forwards deeper or at least try to. Will be interesting to see which players get selected as well.

Probable team

B: Plowman Casboult Marchbank
HB: Simpson Weitering Newman
C: Murphy Cripps Walsh
HF: Cuningham Curnow Fisher
F: McGovern McKay Gibbons
OB: Kreuzer SPS Curnow
IC: Dow Setterfield Silvagni Thomas

OUT:
Lang Kennedy Fasolo Stocker

IN:
Murphy Simpson McGovern Thomas

Hopefully we can win a bit of the footy and at least get a respectable possession count. Will be good to bring some experience back into the side.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to showcase some physical dominance in this game - especially early.

In our last few games against the Lions (mainly up there) they beat us up and physically bullied our players.

This would have been a Fagan psychological ploy given that both teams were seen to be on a similar trajectory at the time to outsiders.

Zorko, Robinson, Mathieson and even Hipwood (that’s right ... Hipwood!) threw their weight around and imposed themselves physically on and off the ball to get the edge over our kids.

Im aware that we have no ‘enforcer’ types, but we need to fly the flag and make a stand this week.

This game scares me a little. If the players don’t react well to this weeks events it could be very ugly...

This can be quoted for every game. Expect a few floggings for the rest of the year. Players wont be switched on for quite a few games or drop their heads easily and give up. Its what happens when there is nothing/nobody to play for. Im going in with the mindset of a decent loss each week so I can enjoy the games when we do decide to turn up.

Anyone know where I can watch this from Waikiki, preferably from pool with a drink in my hand

For those playing at home, its 29 here and will be for the rest of our stay...
Heading over there for my honeymoon in September. At least the footy won't be an issue then haha

Think Lang is better than you're suggesting. Not in the top echelon, but he's got the ability to be a solid 20+ possession midfielder. Needs continuity.

Doubt Jones comes in, I think the club will be ultra-conservative given Cas is doing an OK job.

Also doubt Murphy will get a run just yet. Not the most physical player at the best of times, and coming off broken ribs isn't like to improve that element of his game. One more week of full contact training.

Fas and Kennedy out. One of the kids rested if needed.

Simmo and Gov in. Daisy a possibility if one of the kids has a spell, especially considering Brisbane are likely to try and rough us up.

Lang to date has been a shocking disappointment considering what I saw when he got 24 touches in Cats win over Swans, I’m pretty sure in a semi final the year before he joined.

One more chance maybe but he’s due to do something! Carlton at the minute is no home for downhill skiers..

Just want to see us play without being constrained by one of the worst game plans modern football has ever seen. Let the boys play on instinct and take the game on. When Walsh started in round 1 he constantly looked to attack the corridor and move the ball on. On Sunday he only looked to go sideways or backwards, to me that was the hardest part about the last few weeks. It was almost like we were coaching the talent and instinct out of our players.

Extremely difficult to coach stringent structures on a young team. Too many variables to consider in an inexperienced bunch, leads to them buckling.

Hope to see some aggressive free flowing play.
