I have pretty much reached this point too. Unfortunately Jones, Jaksch, Curnow, Phillips, Kreuz and Gorringe aren't capable of being #1 forward. The only options I see are Rowe, Everitt or Weiters.
Right now Jaksch, Jones and Gorringe have more chance of kicking a goal than Levi. Feel bad for him but time's up.

No it's says a lot about the list management and culture at Carlton that they all wanted to leave and that they are now excelling. All of them are doing very well with Menzel waiting in the wings at Adelaide. Go figure!!!
So will we have a giant sook about it for the next ten years or get over it and enjoy some of the bonuses getting rid of those lazy pricks provided?

I understand people are frustrated by Casboult's goalkicking but it is a superficial bordering on childish perspective to call for him to be dropped.

Outstanding mark who should be played further up the ground. If we actually had a couple of key forwards he would be extremely valuable with his marking prowess roaming up on the wings and resting in a pocket.

As it stands, his is the ONLY tall forward in our team and is doing a good job IMO. There wouldn't be another team in the comp whose key forwards have less support.

We will bring in one of Jones/Jaksch next week but it certainly won't be at Levi's expense. He will do better with more tall support (mentally the pressure will likely ease and clearly that's his issue when it comes to the goalkicking).

And when we are better we will lap it up - like we used to. There is a successful team bias that the umps fall for, I get that. Being Richmond helps no-one. You may as well bellyache about the weather for all the good it does.

Whilst true, I think the problem is the mentality that on the flip side (and since umpires are never consistent) is they sometimes see that a poor team also commits MORE fouls. So the better teams milk it and the umps fall for it because they are shit for a reason right.. But yeah I digress - not why we lost (well a part of it lol) but you know what I mean.

It's still warm in Queensland in ******* mid April FFS. ******* El Nino, El Dorado, El Salvador something something climate denialists.

Thanks ... I feel much better.

Yes its only winter for like 3 weeks in QLD. Man I miss it

I'm still walking around in shorts, t-shirt and flipflops. Even when it was pissing down last week.

He's not holding marks like he used to. He can't kick a football straight. He is getting reasonable support now. He's not doing a nice job. He stays at the club only because he has no currency - name a team who wants to pay the wages of a one-trick pony with no tricks?

Ummm... Fremantle?

They picked up Dawson remember!

If we had Betts and Garlett in the forward line we would score more goals. Try denying that!
Denying a hypothetical...is that possible? Try dealing with facts. Betts wanted to leave and Garlett was a waste of space in his final year with us.

Are you talking about Casboult? Who is supporting him in the forward half of the ground?

Not sure what you're watching mate, Murph was one of the first on the scene. Tried pulling players off and looked angry for Murph.

The others I agree on although I don't know where they were on the field when it happened. No point sprinting 60m just to get involved in it.

Why not?
If a bloke gets a cheap shot then his mates need to look after him.
It's time that ALL Carlton players flew the flag. Every single time. Our team has been a joke for too long.
Too many pinky shakes, man buns and hair gel.

Yeah there was some obvious staging going on...too much. Carlton are expected to lose by the umps it seems - needs to be better managed by onfield leaders.

I wouldn't go that far, whilst conceding it does looks like that, im just of the opinion that we need a separate body that works for the afl and not run by the afl in regards to umpiring. Its pretty clear its not consistent nor fair (not just saying our game but all games this year pretty much have a lot of shit in them and blatantly like saints today) The sheer amount of rules changes that goes on, and myriad of interpretations is ludicrous, there is NO WAY afl can be a global sport (lol at the thought when compared to real run professional global leagues) with the way its being officiated on the ground and off field to management of it. That bloke who just left the boss of it forgot his name atm -- imho its all gone and done a 180 in regards to were it was at. but I said to thy, the mentality of umpires favoring better teams and thinking shit teams constantly commit fouls needs to go. If the infringement is there pay it, i dont care if they pay 100 free kicks - if they are there for both teams.

His supply is better. Don't make me go you with a mallet, SOAP.
All I'm saying is, he has an obvious weakness but it is such a frustrating one for supporters that they seem to ignore all the good he does. He is a very competitive footballer who would have far more impact if there was anyone else on the list capable of playing FF. Up the ground, roaming the wings, chopping out in the ruck etc is his go. Hopefully Jones/Jaksch come in and give Levi a chance to be an effective contributor in a different role.

Dram ... ffs
I'm doing a lot of welding, drilling and grinding out in the carport area FFS... I need to wear safety footwear.

And saying that I am walking around in shorts and thongs just doesnt sound right after all those years living in the UK and Ireland

Thought we were competitive for the most part. We just couldn't put it on the score board. Charlie isn't going to be a multiple goal scorer in his first season, probably not until the latter stages of his second season imo. Harry still to come in once he's ready and the options will be there, we just have to be patient.

Some of the more experienced players tonight didn't have their best game.

Thought the umpiring was particularly bad tonight as well. Killed our momentum on numerous occasions.

Unfortunately he is playing AFL, not VFL. In a contending team his kicking for goal would not be tolerated. As we a far from a contending team, it is.

However as we improve and hopefully become that team and unless his goal kicking substantially improves, Casboult will not be playing AFL at that point.

For now he is safe, as are many of the cfc players that will eventually go.
