I assume you mean John Northey? The AFL didn’t screw us other we did that ourselves. Northeys contract was up for renewal and Richmond tried to do a short extension which would have lined his contract expiry up with Kevin Sherry’s at Essendon Northey left and we didn’t get Sheedy. Makes me appreciate Peggie and Benny all the more given how bad we used to be

Northys was contracted for another 12 months
It wasn’t up for renewal

and never forget:
'The Swans had been offered two uncontracted players as part of league concessions for poor performance'
bye bye Stuart Maxfield in 1995-1996 off season too, likely future captain.

The AFL crippled us to prop up Sydney in that era.
yeah corrupt collo from carltoon and his m8s were running the league. tried to get us back for dominating them in the 70s. salty campaigners

It was a great win.
I thought the usual horror script was being played out when they kicked 6 out of 7, but the boys slowed the game down well in the last quarter and regained control.
Overall they played a well balanced game plan of moving the ball quickly through the middle when an opportunity arose, and slower down the line when needed.
Mini's got it working well, and the players look like they're more confident and enjoying themselves.
Good times, looking forward to next week.

Apparently there's controversy over the point that hit the post pad last night. It was clear as day it hit the pad, the ball changes direction and the pad moves just before mad cans touches the padding.

There wasnt this much scrutiny last year in the elimination final when it actually mattered....still waiting for that comprehensive footage that it went directly over the post.

The guy in the ARC said there was no definitive proof that it hit the post or touched, the goal umpire was sure it did the field umpire wanted a goal

You can even see the rolled-up flag move as the ball hits it

As best I can tell, the logic is this: A correct call on this non-goal proves there’s no conspiracy against us and we therefore need to shut up about the dozen or more free kicks that any other team would have received in the same circumstances
