robbie gray: how high is he rated?

Even when he wasn't at his best last year, still had 3 separate occasions when a neutral fan (Pies/Roos/Tigers) dropped a "He's a bloody good player that Robbie Gray..." just in general footy discussion.

Not even well-reasoned objective supporters either, just biased meatheads - so they're probably on here reading this anyway. Off that, I reckon he's very highly rated in Melbourne and rightly so too. Chalk 1 up for the average footy fan :thumbsu:

Probably the best small forward in the league at the moment, given Betts has t been himself this year and Cyril is injured.

Will never get seen as a pure forward because of his time in the middle. But his versatility makes him so dangerous. But you can say the same about Martin and Dangerfield.
Cyril aint in the same league

My point was at his best hes a lot better than just all Australian.
Can't remember the year, but when he won pretty much every media award except the brownlow, that was peak Robbie gray.
Yea, Priddis winning the brownlow over him that year was a disgrace. He was top 3 in the league that year along with Fyfe and Ablett

and just on cue, he's had 4 touches in a half. and this is EXACTLY what i mean. he goes missing!
Yep - goes missing far too often - you're right. Just not good enough.

BTW - leads the comp for most 20 possession / 3 goal games over the last 5 years - that's 15 of them if you want the number. More than Fyfe, Ablett, Dangerfield, Martin, etc, etc. But goes missing too often to be considered elite.

In another thread I rated him in the top 7 players I've seen in my 7 years of watching footy - I feel like every time I watch a port game he bobs up at multiple times to make something happen that other players can't

That's my favourite part of him, his ability to create something out of nothing. Happens regularly.

Better than anyone Essendon has... And it's not even close.

He's won games this year.

The classic attack the team of a poster instead of posting anything of substance.

He's a gun and a match winner, no one has doubted that, but he certainly does go missing at times for large periods of the game such as tonight. Stop being so precious because some don't think that every Port player is infallible like you do.

he's just never held accountable for his inconsistencies. gets talked up every year as a brownlow smokey every year but he goes missing far too often.
Melbourne fans think they can judge him the first time they see him

Write him off then, just like the Showdown
