Everyone has a sweet spot and they can act accordingly.
This is such an individualistic mentality to this place & isn’t good for the health of the sub-forum overall.
Yes—- there is a growth of the weekly 100+ posters recently, which meant that the overall post count is higher. But those posts are being made by a smaller amount of people.
The amount of times I’ve heard “I’m not looking forward to a match thread with x poster or y club because of how much they post” has risen significantly in recent seasons.
A 3,000 post match thread with more than half the posts coming from three people turns others away. People don’t want to read that much to be able to contribute.
Before you say—- “they don’t need to read everything”, I disagree. A good match thread should be a pleasure to read. The same way in that a good game of Werewolf can be enjoyable, even after you’ve been lynched. It’s the ability to appreciate the thought process people make in their posting.
The quality of posts has declined with the increase in the quantity from a select few. No one wants to scroll past video clips with no discussion of them that makes this place a community, no one wants to see an entire page filled up with one persons single sentence answers to previous posts.
There is a sweet spot—- and it’s lower than the spammers think. Just because the chronically online have time to post all day, every day doesn’t mean it should be that way.
I agree with Bono that 40 posts would be the gold standard— 8-10 a day during the week.
