ROK talks hit a hurdle - SEN

The whole first round or not first round pick should have been agreed before we spoke to ROK.

I can't understand why club's make thi so hard.

Hawthorn says: we want O'Keefe but will not give up our first pick

Sydney says: ok, we want second pick and Thorp

Hawthorn says: ok.

Pelchen is the one that is going to come out of this looking like a tool if he doesn't hand pick 16 over. For some reason this bloke seems to rate himself a little too highly come trade time.

As with the Cats in 2007 and 2008 (up to the GF) when you have the runs on the ball, you can rate yourself highly!

That is why we have our tenth premiership.

Call it what you like, but Pelchen is a terrific operator. Still crying over Hay and Thompson?

The porblem for Pelchen now is that everyone knows how he operates. Can't see him screwing over Sydney.

Had no problems with the Thompson deal, the Hay deal was poor on our part for not doing our homework.

But hey it still doesn't stop us beating Hawthorn at least once a year;)

You won your tenth premiership because the best team all year fell over, 2008 will be known as the "Bradbury Premiership".

Who cares...it's in the record book as a win.

If Pelchen and co don't get this through, we will find out just how desperate ROK is to get to a Melbourne team since MFC will have the first pick in the PSD.

Personally I can only see ROK in white and red or brown and gold next year.

Yeah. $600k and stay at Sydney. Or probably $400K and play for Melbourne and win another spoon.

Tough choice.

Its Hawthorn or Swans in 09

Hawthorn supporters still bitter about Judd! Wow, get over it guys. You won a flag ... now move along!

His rejection of you must have cut badly. Was it that he didn't even want to meet with you guys?

Maybe he doesn't like brown and yellow. Maybe he doesn't like Tasmania. Maybe he knew that the Pelican would try to screw over his old club. Let's see, would the Pelican have offered your second rounder + Dawson?

Just move along.

Maybe he didn't want to win a flag and instead get whalloped by 15 goals in round 22

As I posted before:

O'Keefe closer to heading to Hawthorn

http://au.sports.yahoo.com/afl/news/article/-/5066595/okeefe-closer-heading-hawthorn

O'Keefe had previously indicated that the chance to play for a successful club in front of big crowds were key factors in him looking at a move, with the Hawks able to satisfy him on both fronts.

Pelchen said those factors were among several which had O'Keefe leaning towards accepting a contract from the club which would be worth significantly less than he could earn at Sydney or elsewhere.

"It's of lesser monetary value but we believe we could offer a total package, whether it be football or lifestyle or work beyond football," Pelchen said.

Why doesn't he want to play for Carlton, after all, Hawthorn isn't a Victorian club afterall

Pick 33 (Morton), of which you will be getting back with our pick 34. Good dealing

Haha:D Clever

Could we have a hire of a superstar for 2 years somewhere to compensate??

Morton ... you're dreamin!!!

You lot have the upper hand but watch out if this doesn't finish Pelicans career and cease all trading with Hawks .. he has screwed too many.... with lies!

and I was just pointing out that if you have the runs on the board (as your team did) you have a right to think of yourself "a little too highly". Perhaps that will back fire on Pelch (as some would say it did too the cats, I personally don't think it had anything to do with it) but the basic matter is, that with or with out RoK we have a good side so there is no point over paying for a guy. We have till 2pm tomorrow. No need to take an early deal now!

All the Hawks fans crapping on about Pelchen. Easy to forget that Ireland is on the other side and is the best administrator in the game bar none. To do what he has done with the Brisbane and Sydney franchises is amazing. Pelchen is an amateur by comparison.

Hawks fans also remember a couple of years ago how young the premier Eagles were. All it took was a drug issue and a return home and the cards came tumbling down. Similarities anyone given the media coverage last year of issues a certain high profile Hawk faced

Good, we need to keep pick 16 imo.

Looks like he could end up at Melbourne lmao

Never seems to work that way though. ROK will either have a sudden bout with loyalty and be a Swan next year, or he will force Sydneys hand by refusing to sign outright. No team lets a player of his skill walk for nothing these days, particularly Sydney, thier list managers are a bit to canny as metnioned above.

Yeah, Pelchen is a hack! You know, going from 14th to flag in four years with 2nd/3rd youngest list is the league! I am not sure why we didn't let him go to the Tigers when they were after him!

Not really, care to elaborate, Quigley?

too many ego's in this game, every club trying to get one up on another in trade week.

Its a farce espcially for long serving players out of contract, bring in free agency.
