Christmas for Dees fans if Petracca, Gawn and May make it. Naitanui deserves to be in ahead of Gawn, best Max can hope for is a bench spot given he missed three games and played a few clearly not at full fitness.

I agree, but those critics questioning are saying that ruckmen should be influencing more around the ground by marking down the line etc.

Eagles don’t really play that way anyway. They are very much a chip kick around and switch play team. How often do they just do a long kick down the line randomly? Maybe I am wrong but I feel they do it much less than other teams. I don’t know, I just feel like this is one of the occasions where stats don’t reflect presence and influence.

He destroyed St Kilda last week, but if you just looked at the stars you would think he did nothing.

For Jack Gunston to finish top 3 in the Coleman after the year Hawthorn has had (and after playing half back the first couple of games) he had to be a lock on the half forward line.

Pure class.
Nahh SEN are giving it to Danger with his 8 goals ranked 100th.

Danger is a great mid and has had a good season but not as a forward.

Okay, yes, he's equal second with 1 quarter to play but if GC manage to hold him goalless all Kennedy and Dixon would need is 1 goal, Taberner 3 goals, to overtake him. All of which is possible.

Gunston is a chance but he isn't a lock

True, but Kennedy and Dixon have done it in front of dominant midfields where opportunities are plentiful and scores are high.

Gunston has done it starting the year on the half back flank, missing a game and playing in front of the worst midfield in the comp where the team is usually kicking only a few goals a game.

More impressive fro. Gunston IMO.

I'm not saying Gunston isn't having an impressive year. I'm just pointing out that he is currently in equal second halfway through the last quarter of his year and the two blokes equal with him are playing today and tomorrow, and a guy only 2 goals behind is playing later today.

If he gets in, he deserves it. If he doesn't get in it won't matter.

Kennedy has already played

Oh, so he has.

Still, I reckon Taberner is good for 3 or more tonight and King Charlie should be abe to manage at least one

It really doesn't matter though, Gunston isnt a KPP he is a HF. 2nd/3rd or 4th he is leading all other HF's.

Underated season.

Jack Riewoldt, Fev and Brown all won Colemans in ordinary teams.

Gunston has taken 10 contested marks for the season. Kennedy has 17, Hawkins 27, Dixon 43. Some people call Gunston a key forward some don't, but he's still the #1 target inside 50 for his team (so is Papley who is a midget). Teams put a lot more effort into stopping the big key forwards than they do Gunston this year. If you are picking a tall and Dixon and Gunston are equal for goals I'm taking Dixon every time because of how much the Port forward line is built around him. Gray, Butters etc. get goals because Dixon creates contests against 2 or 3 opponents. If you are picking a half forward then Gunston is in the mix with a bunch of others who have been good but not outstanding this year.

FWIW I don't think Kennedy has had an AA year. Had a good run from Rd 4 to Rd 12 then a quiet one vs GWS, KO'd vs Richmond in the first quarter, missed a game then a couple of OK games and injured again.

From my side, Gunston's the only lock.

Hawkins should be FF as most goals from KPP, but they may name him at CHF to include Dixon/Kennedy.

Stratton may be an outside shot at a FP spot - averaging 15 goals a game (pro-rata) when playing forward this season.

Are you differentiating between Daniel and Daniel in both teams?

Not sure Dixon has quite the mobility to play up the ground.

was this to me?

I don’t understand your first question.

in regards to your second question, Indont disagree, Gunston could be named at half forward and Dixon in the pocket or on the bench.
