Coyne could be a natural replacement for Wirra with his speed and run of half back.

Why would anyone bypass the PSD for the rookie draft? Less money, no spot on the senior list and still no guarantee of even getting picked up if circumstances change.Freo has signaled that they are interested and therefore are likely to take him before us. We could only get him in the PSD if Freo pass him up in the ND or PSD before us.
Even then they could tell him to bypass the PSD and they will take him with their first rookie pick before us.
They are in the box seat to take him and chances are they will and nothing we can do about it.

We cant rate Bennell that highly...we overlooked him in the rookie draft last year despite crying out for a small forward at the time. Not sure if much has changed since.
Freo have an abundance of that type of player and I would be surprised if they took another. We generally keep our cards close to our chest. There was alot of speculation that we were going to take Cockie last year but didnt invite him to train. I believe so we dont force another team to take them with early picks and are able to get them with later picks or PSD.
TDL should be our first priority in PSD and I can see Freo taking him with 1 of their NDP so they will try and get him in the RD giving us the opertunity to snag him in the PSD.
If TDL is gone then either John Bennell or Taylor Duryea should be next on our list IMO.![]()
From memory, I think it was Hardingham I watched last year and even the commentators commented how often he did good work only to turn the ball over consistently...not you want from a mature age rookie.Kyle Hardingham
And is a specialist FP as well.Joel Leeson.
Super talented all round sportsman. Only been playing footy seriously for about 3 yrs.
Mid size, half forward type, can sit on heads and glides over the ground, has good skills both sides. Won the club championship at his local golf club when he was about 13, and played hockey. Will improve out of sight in the next 12 months.

So what exactly would you say are some vital attributes for a mature age rookie, a player that hasn't been good enough to make the cut for the last 2,3,4 sometimes even 5 years? From memory, I think it was Hardingham I watched last year and even the commentators commented how often he did good work only to turn the ball over consistently...not you want from a mature age rookie.
No one.who`s training with the eagles? does anyone know.
Matt DeBoer was an Eagles supporter and we took Bedford in front of him, mistakes are made but life goes on.Nah, I just think we made a genuine mistake with Liam Bedford at pick two.
Cockie was always likely to be our second pick.
I think we should seriously consider Kieran King as well.
Anyone have an idea on this...Just a quick question on the rookies if anyone is up to date on the new rules. Could we possibly re-rookie Davis as our nominated rookie in the draft, therefore he goes back to his original wages rather than them counting to next years TPP.
Yeah i thought about that too, otherwise it basically means that a rookie could spend like 6 seasons with a team. Seems a bit excessive. Hell their could be 100-game rookie listed players if it still appliedAs a guess - I'd say the 'nominated rookie' rule would have been scrapped seeing as rookies can now be signed on for a third year without being put through the draft.
The Eagles have also set their sights on speedy Swan Districts forward Lewis Jetta , East Fremantle backman Brad Sheppard or Sharks midfielder Kane Lucas along with Dennis Lane's lions teammate Simon White as a possible rookie list selection next month
Daniher was quoted as saying one of the attractions for our current rookies is that they could be nominated rookies as we have no vets. Or did you mean something else and I missed the point?Yeah i thought about that too, otherwise it basically means that a rookie could spend like 6 seasons with a team. Seems a bit excessive. I meant that every team can delist 1 rookie and then pick them up again in the draft with their final pick. As a way to stop other clubs poaching teams rookies.Daniher was quoted as saying one of the attractions for our current rookies is that they could be nominated rookies as we have no vets.
