That's a very interesting theory to hold the very year after Cyril Rioli wins the Norm Smith in the winning side.

Quality players win Clubs premierships.

Michael Walters is BigTime and i would love him in ANY side. And just quietly, i'd have a fiver on him for the Norm Smith in a GF.

So how much impact did Cyril have against the Eagles last night?

13 possessions, 8 tackles and 0.0 score.

Eagles 18 contested marks Hawks 2.

Hawks closest player to a KP tall is Gunston and they are quickly coming back to pack without Roughead, Lake, Hale and Stratton providing size and structure.

Cyril is the cherry on top of the cake.

So what, are you going to bump this thread every time a small forward has an average game?

Love how you had didn't have a comeback to the post for three days. Then from no where....
Definitely a stopped clock moment.

Josh Kennedy(a tall gun) didn't touch it in the Grand Final.

Cyril won the Norm Smith. And has been their best player this year without Rough, Lake and Hale.

Get a new point...one that is valid.

Topliners come in all sizes.

The point I've made has been valid for a very long time and it will continue to be valid for a long time to come.

Question. What did Carlton just load up with last draft in their rebuild? Quality small forwards or quality talls?

I'll swap you Mark LeCras for Levi Casboult.

Mate, quality is quality.

You need all sorts of quality players to make up a quality side.

Look it's a conversation i'm not much interested in having. Hawthorn have won the last 3 flags with 3 small forwards and 2 mobile moving mediums.

Nic Nat out for approximately one year due to ACL injury, he probably won't be back till late 2017/early 2018. West Coast has limited ruck stocks, and Giles stinks. Gonna have to somehow persuade GWS to trade Lobb.

I really think we have to try hard for lobb now
And what do you think WC would have to give up in exchange?

You want to sell the farm for a player to plug a hole for one season? Rather than address the long-standing issues in the midfield?

Freo fans are talking pick 3. What would West Coast have equal to that?

Seriously. It'll take a heap. I'll be surprised if you guys try for West Coast. It'll very unlike you guys.

I think West Coast's priorities have changed if Nic Nac has down an ACL. Lobb would become our first priority and next year's list of potential midfielders is better than this year's available mids.
Do you mean trade or draft?
Isnt this draft a midfielder draft and the next has some promising talls.

No way he leaves but is there any fact to this talk he wants to head back to Perth or just more media BS?
Very happy for him to do a Mitch Clark and get lost on the way home via Melbourne:D

ACL injuries suck!
We are now in the same boat, with Ceglar down, our backup rucks are limited

Vickery or Vardy for us :straining:

Completely made up, how this turned into 15 pages is a fantastic representation of people that support WA based teams.

Shane Mumford has rubbished claims fellow Giants ruckman Rory Lobb is homesick and seeking a trade back to his home state of Western Australia. "He loves the joint, he loves the players here, that's actually a little bit surprising so we'll wait and see how that plays out," Mumford said. "He's obviously a required player at this club. He's a massive part of the future at this club."

Lobb has been linked with a move to either West Coast or Fremantle, despite being contracted with the Giants until the end of 2017. Wayne Campbell, general manager of football at GWS, says the club hasn't spoken about a potential trade with Lobb or his management.

Teammate Toby Greene posted a photo of the pair on Instagram last night with the caption “Cam what would you rather? 5 years and 5 houses in WA or at least another 2 years under TFG’s wing during mad Monday week?”

McCarthy replied: “tobes mate it’s been one hell of a week I’m not fu#king leaving!”

An article appears from a journalist about a WA based player in a position that a WA based team desperately needs and you're upset that there's discussion about it?

I agree, Eagles need to fix the midfield. Drafting another key ruckman for 1 year makes no sense as when they're all fit they'll have no room for them all.

If the reporting around this is at all reliable, it does sound like WC are getting ready to have a big sniff at Lobb.

I'm bracing for the overpaying.

WC: We really, really, really want Lobb. And we need him.

GWS: OK. Two first-rounders.

WC: Nah. Let's negotiate. We're super reasonable when it comes to trading. Let's talk.

GWS: ....
