Which players would have overtaken Nash if they played the same numbers of games. Sicily I can see and have acknowledged. Who re the others?

I think we are talking about two different things, which essentially stem from what the definition of "best" is. Yours seems to be PCM votes. My definition is more a combination of output, impact and overall value. Value in the sense that if we lost that player what would the impact to the team balance and strength be.

If we were to.lose Nash, there are quite a few waiting in the wings to play his role and while they may not prove as good in the role as Nash the gap would be smaller than if we had to find replacements for all the names ahead of Nash on the list above.

But I see your point and we are both right in our own way. It's best if we just leave it at that.

I forget about how literal I have to be here with jokes especially not my usual hilarious ones - what’s the font again?
Calibri size 11 is my favourite. I used to be Garamond 12 but kinda grew out of it.

That's a pretty fair effort there Roughy.

Some very good players not getting a guernsey.

Nice spot to be in !

From preseason training and other club comments, etc Hardwick will be playing in forward half and Amon will playing in back half.

Finns 100% in the side unless injured. I reckon they are finding a spot for Shammy too with Dimma fwd.

Yeah I like that they’ve been training there but I’m not convinced it will come to fruition round 1…

Don’t see Amon being able to defend an opponent well enough to play in defence… worried opposition will try to isolate his opponent and we don’t really have anyone else that can play the wing role as well as he does… he really started to dominate games towards the end of last season…

Dimma is still our best small defender - think we lose something without him down there and have recruited Watson and Ginnivan to play as small forwards…

Is Croc, Ward, Hustwaite and Mackenzie fighting for a spot against each other?

Or are they trying to take senior players spots?

Is a fit CJ automatically in the side? Could Ward play there? I'd like games into HH.

Amon to the half back is a head scratcher for me as well.

As you say he was really good on the wing last half of 2023. Good wings are absolute gold IMOH

Hardwick playing forward is also an unusual gambit. Quality lock down Backmen who also give offensive drive like Dimma are also very valuable and hard to find.

Oh well will be interesting to see how the teams line up Round 1 at the very least.

bro he played half-back for much of that last half of 2023 when he put up career-best numbers

PSA: Macdonald has played 41/45 possible AFL games in his career to date. Only 4 in the green vest.

Perplexing why he's constantly spoken about as a fringe player fighting for a spot.

Croc is more chance of fighting for a spot with Ginnivan, Moore and Butler, than Ward, MacKenzie and Hustwaite.
Croc aint fighting for a spot with those two
i thought that Mackenzie and Huss played HFF (rotated anyway) when they got games last year. I guess Croc is more of a fwd than a mid at this point but I see his CBAs increasing this season to make it more of an even split. And Sam seems to play the young-mid that isn't quite good enough to demand constant CBAs at HFF, regardless of their intended eventual position.

i was never arguing that Cmac was a fringe 22 player, just that I imagine if those 3 are getting named it will be on a HF flank (unless there's an injury to our first-choice mids). Whereas Ward doesn't play fwd
